2010-07-30migration: Accept 'cont' only after successful incoming migrationAmit Shah
When a 'cont' is issued on a VM that's just waiting for an incoming migration, the VM reboots and boots into the guest, possibly corrupting its storage since it could be shared with another VM running elsewhere. Ensure that a VM started with '-incoming' is only run when an incoming migration successfully completes. A new qerror, QERR_MIGRATION_EXPECTED, is added to signal that 'cont' failed due to no incoming migration has been attempted yet. The new option is: -fsdev fstype,id=myid,path=/share_path/,security_model=[mapped|passthrough] -virtfs fstype,path=/share_path/,security_model=[mapped|passthrough],mnt_tag=tag In the case of mapped security model, files are created with QEMU user credentials and the client-user's credentials are saved in extended attributes. Hook up any cleanup work which needs to be done here. Advantages over using atexit(3): (1) You get passed in a pointer to the notifier. 2010-05-28drive: allow rerror, werror and readonly for if=noneGerd Hoffmann
When creating guest disks the qdev way using ... -drive if=none,id=$name, args -device $driver, drive=$name it is not possible to specify rerror, werror and readonly arguments for drive as drive_init allows/blocks them based on the interface (if=) specified and none isn't white-listed there. 2010-05-27Make cache=unsafe the default for -snapshotAlexander Graf
When using -snapshot we don't care about data integrity of the cow file at all, so let's disable flushing there and squeeze out the last drop of performance we could possibly get. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Aurelien Jarno <aurelien@aurel32.net>
2010-05-26Add cache=unsafe parameter to -driveAlexander Graf
Usually the guest can tell the host to flush data to disk. In some cases we don't want to flush though, but try to keep everything in cache. So let's add a new cache value to -drive that allows us to set the cache policy to most aggressive, disabling flushes. We call this mode "unsafe", as guest data is not guaranteed to survive host crashes anymore. This patch also adds a noop function for aio, so we can do nothing in AIO fashion.
