Honor the expected behavior of syncfs() to synchronously flush all data
and metadata to disk on linux systems.
If virtiofsd is started with '-o announce_submounts', the client is
expected to send a FUSE_SYNCFS request for each individual submount.
In this case, we just create a new file descriptor on the submount
inode with lo_inode_open(), call syncfs() on it and close it. The
intermediary file is needed because O_PATH descriptors aren't
backed by an actual file and syncfs() would fail with EBADF.
If virtiofsd is started without '-o announce_submounts' or if the
client doesn't have the FUSE_CAP_SUBMOUNTS capability, the client
only sends a single FUSE_SYNCFS request for the root inode. The
server would thus need to track submounts internally and call
syncfs() on each of them. This will be implemented later.
Note that syncfs() might suffer from a time penalty if the submounts
are being hammered by some unrelated workload on the host. The only
solution to prevent that is to avoid shared mounts.

Add capability to enable and parse security context as sent by client
and put into fuse_req. Filesystems now can get security context from
request and set it on files during creation.

->capable keeps track of what capabilities kernel supports and ->wants keep
track of what capabilities filesytem wants.
Right now these fields are 32bit in size. But now fuse has run out of
bits and capabilities can now have bit number which are higher than 31.
That means 32 bit fields are not suffcient anymore. Increase size to 64
bit so that we can add newer capabilities and still be able to use existing
code to check and set the capabilities.

Add some code to parse extended "struct fuse_init_in". And use a local
variable "flag" to represent 64 bit flags. This will make it easier
to add more features without having to worry about two 32bit flags (->flags
and ->flags2) in "fuse_struct_in".

Kernel version 5.17 has increased the size of "struct fuse_init_in" struct.
Previously this struct was 16 bytes and now it has been extended to
64 bytes in size.
Once qemu headers are updated to latest, it will expect to receive 64 byte
size struct (for protocol version major 7 and minor > 6). But if guest is
booting older kernel (older than 5.17), then it still sends older
fuse_init_in of size 16 bytes. And do_init() fails. It is expecting
64 byte struct. And this results in mount of virtiofs failing.
Fix this by parsing 16 bytes only for now. Separate patches will be
posted which will parse rest of the bytes and enable new functionality.
Right now we don't support any of the new functionality, so we don't
lose anything by not parsing bytes beyond 16.

Add the bits to enable support for setxattr_ext if fuse offers it. Do not
enable it by default yet. Let passthrough_ll opt-in. Enabling it by deafult
kind of automatically means that you are taking responsibility of clearing
SGID if ACL is set.

With kernel header updates fuse_setxattr_in struct has grown in size.
But this new struct size only takes affect if user has opted in
for fuse feature FUSE_SETXATTR_EXT otherwise fuse continues to
send "fuse_setxattr_in" of older size. Older size is determined
by FUSE_COMPAT_SETXATTR_IN_SIZE.
Fix this. If we have not opted in for FUSE_SETXATTR_EXT, then
expect that we will get fuse_setxattr_in of size FUSE_COMPAT_SETXATTR_IN_SIZE
and not sizeof(struct fuse_sexattr_in).

A well behaved FUSE client uses FUSE_CREATE to create files. It isn't
supposed to pass O_CREAT along a FUSE_OPEN request, as documented in
the "fuse_lowlevel.h" header :
/**
* Open a file
*
* Open flags are available in fi->flags. The following rules
* apply.
*
* - Creation (O_CREAT, O_EXCL, O_NOCTTY) flags will be
* filtered out / handled by the kernel.
But if the client happens to do it anyway, the server ends up passing
this flag to open() without the mandatory mode_t 4th argument. Since
open() is a variadic function, glibc will happily pass whatever it
finds on the stack to the syscall. If this file is compiled with
-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2, glibc will even detect that and abort:
*** invalid openat64 call: O_CREAT or O_TMPFILE without mode ***: terminated
Specifying O_CREAT with FUSE_OPEN is a protocol violation. Check this
in do_open(), print out a message and return an error to the client,
EINVAL like we already do when fuse_mbuf_iter_advance() fails.
The FUSE filesystem doesn't currently support O_TMPFILE, but the very
same would happen if O_TMPFILE was passed in a FUSE_OPEN request. Check
that as well.

Replaced the calls to malloc()/calloc() and their respective
calls to free() of iovec structs with GLib's allocation and
deallocation functions and used g_autofree when appropriate.
Replaced the allocation of in_sg_cpy to g_new() instead of a call
to calloc() and a null-checking assertion. Not g_new0()
because the buffer is immediately overwritten using memcpy.

Currently we created a thread pool (With 64 max threads per pool) for
each virtqueue. We hoped that this will provide us with better scalability
and performance.
But in practice, we are getting better numbers in most of the cases
when we don't create a thread pool at all and a single thread per
virtqueue receives the request and processes it.
Hence, I am proposing that we switch to no thread pool by default
(equivalent of --thread-pool-size=0). This will provide out of
box better performance to most of the users. In fact other users
have confirmed that not using a thread pool gives them better
numbers. So why not use this as default. It can be changed when
somebody can fix the issues with thread pool performance.

This patch adds basic support for FUSE_HANDLE_KILLPRIV_V2. virtiofsd
can enable/disable this by specifying option "-o killpriv_v2/no_killpriv_v2".
By default this is enabled as long as client supports it
Enabling this option helps with performance in write path. Without this
option, currently every write is first preceeded with a getxattr() operation
to find out if security.capability is set. (Write is supposed to clear
security.capability). With this option enabled, server is signing up for
clearing security.capability on every WRITE and also clearing suid/sgid
subject to certain rules. This gets rid of extra getxattr() call for every
WRITE and improves performance. This is true when virtiofsd is run with
option -o xattr.
What does enabling FUSE_HANDLE_KILLPRIV_V2 mean for file server implementation.
It needs to adhere to following rules. Thanks to Miklos for this summary.
- clear "security.capability" on write, truncate and chown unconditionally
- clear suid/sgid in case of following. Note, sgid is cleared only if
group executable bit is set.
o setattr has FATTR_SIZE and FATTR_KILL_SUIDGID set.
o setattr has FATTR_UID or FATTR_GID
o open has O_TRUNC and FUSE_OPEN_KILL_SUIDGID
o create has O_TRUNC and FUSE_OPEN_KILL_SUIDGID flag set.
o write has FUSE_WRITE_KILL_SUIDGID
>From Linux VFS client perspective, here are the requirements.
- caps are always cleared on chown/write/truncate
- suid is always cleared on chown, while for truncate/write it is cleared
only if caller does not have CAP_FSETID.
- sgid is always cleared on chown, while for truncate/write it is cleared
only if caller does not have CAP_FSETID as well as file has group execute
permission.
virtiofsd implementation has not changed much to adhere to above ruls. And
reason being that current assumption is that we are running on Linux
and on top of filesystems like ext4/xfs which already follow above rules.
On write, truncate, chown, seucurity.capability is cleared. And virtiofsd
drops CAP_FSETID if need be and that will lead to clearing of suid/sgid.
But if virtiofsd is running on top a filesystem which breaks above assumptions,
then it will have to take extra actions to emulate above. That's a TODO
for later when need arises.
Note: create normally is supposed to be called only when file does not
exist. So generally there should not be any question of clearing
setuid/setgid. But it is possible that after client checks that
file is not present, some other client creates file on server
and this race can trigger sending FUSE_CREATE. In that case, if
O_TRUNC is set, we should clear suid/sgid if FUSE_OPEN_KILL_SUIDGID
is also set.

- Moved capability code in lo_do_open() so that both lo_open() and
lo_create() can benefit from common code.
- Dropped changes to kernel headers as these are part of qemu already.

The 'ch' will be NULL in the following stack:
send_notify_iov()->fuse_send_msg()->virtio_send_msg(), and
this may lead to NULL pointer dereferenced in virtio_send_msg().
But send_notify_iov() was never called, so remove the useless code
about send_notify_iov() to fix this problem.

fill_entry()), so it should have a member that mirrors fuse_attr.flags.
fill_entry() should then copy this fuse_entry_param.attr_flags to
fuse_attr.flags.

FUSE_SUBMOUNTS is a pure indicator by the kernel to signal that it
supports submounts. It does not check its state in the init reply, so
there is nothing for fuse_lowlevel.c to do but to check its existence
and copy it into fuse_conn_info.capable.

The fuse_attr.flags field is currently just initialized to 0, which is
valid. Thus, there is no reason not to always announce FUSE_ATTR_FLAGS
(when the kernel supports it).

If you like running QEMU as a normal user (very common for TCG runs)
but you have to run virtiofsd as a root user you run into connection
problems. Adding support for an optional --socket-group allows the
users to keep using the command line.

Remove fuse_req_getgroups that's unused in virtiofsd; it came in
from libfuse but we don't actually use it. It was called from
fuse_getgroups which we previously removed (but had left it's header
in).
Coverity had complained about null termination in it, but removing
it is the easiest answer.

When running with multiple threads it can be tricky to handle
FUSE_INIT/FUSE_DESTROY in parallel with other request types or in
parallel with themselves. Serialize FUSE_INIT and FUSE_DESTROY so that
malicious clients cannot trigger race conditions.

The user will get confused about the situation and maybe the cause of the
unexpected problem. So it's better to prevent the multiple running.
Create a regular file under localstatedir directory to exclude the
vhost_user_socket. To create and lock the file, use qemu_write_pidfile()
because the API has some sanity checks and file lock.

Introduce "-o log_level=" command line option to specify current log
level (priority), valid values are "debug info warn err", e.g.
./virtiofsd -o log_level=debug ...
So only log priority higher than "debug" will be printed to
stderr/syslog. And the default level is info.
The "-o debug"/"-d" options are kept, and imply debug log level.

Some FUSE message replies contain padding fields that are not
initialized by libfuse. This is fine in traditional FUSE applications
because the kernel is trusted. virtiofsd does not trust the guest and
must not expose uninitialized memory.
Use C struct initializers to automatically zero out memory. Not all of
these code changes are strictly necessary but they will prevent future
information leaks if the structs are extended.

Each FUSE operation involves parsing the input buffer. Currently the
code assumes the input buffer is large enough for the expected
arguments. This patch uses fuse_mbuf_iter to check the size.
Most operations are simple to convert. Some are more complicated due to
variable-length inputs or different sizes depending on the protocol
version.

There is a small change in behavior: if fuse_write_in->size doesn't
match the input buffer size then the request is failed. Previously
write requests with 1 fuse_buf element would truncate to
fuse_write_in->size.

Let fuse_session_process_buf_int take a fuse_bufvec * instead of a
fuse_buf; and then through to do_write_buf - where in the best
case it can pass that straight through to op.write_buf without copying
(other than skipping a header).

Although --socket-path=PATH is useful for manual invocations, management
tools typically create the UNIX domain socket themselves and pass it to
the vhost-user device backend. This way QEMU can be launched
immediately with a valid socket. No waiting for the vhost-user device
backend is required when fd passing is used.

If caller has not sent file handle in request, then using inode, retrieve
the fd opened using O_PATH and use that to open file again and issue
fsync. This will be needed when dax_flush() calls fsync. At that time
we only have inode information (and not file).

All of the fuse files include config.h and define GNU_SOURCE
where we don't have either under our build - remove them.
