When guest page size > host page size, this test can fail due to the SIGBUS protection hack. Avoid this by making sure that the file size is at least one guest page. 2024-02-28tests/tcg: update licenses to GPLv2 as intendedAlex Bennée
My default header template is GPLv3 but for QEMU code we really should stick to GPLv2-or-later (allowing others to up-license it if they wish). While this is test code we should still be consistent on the source distribution. I wrote all of this code so its not a problem. However there remains one GPLv3 file left which is the crt0-tc2x.S for TriCore. 2023-11-23tests/tcg: finesse the registers check for "hidden" regsAlex Bennée
The reason the ppc64 and s390x test where failing was because gdb hides them although they are still accessible via regnum. We can re-arrange the test a little bit and include these two arches in our test. We also need to be a bit more careful handling remote-registers as the format isn't easily parsed with pure white space separation. Once we fold types like "long long" and "long double" into a single word we can now assert all registers are either listed or elided. 2023-11-08tests/tcg: add an explicit gdbstub register testerAlex Bennée
We already do a couple of "info registers" for specific tests but this is a more comprehensive multiarch test. It also has some output helpful for debugging the gdbstub by showing which XML features are advertised and what the underlying register numbers are. My initial motivation was to see if there are any duplicate register names exposed via the gdbstub while I was reviewing the proposed register interface for TCG plugins. Mismatches between the xml and remote-desc are reported for debugging but do not fail the test. 2023-08-30gdbstub: fixes cases where wrong threads were reported to GDB on SIGINTMatheus Branco Borella
This fix is implemented by having the vCont handler set the value of `gdbserver_state.c_cpu` if any threads are to be resumed. The specific CPU picked is arbitrarily from the ones to be resumed, but it should be okay, as all GDB cares about is that it is a resumed thread. In the previous commit, we modified gdbstub.c to only send stop-reply packets as a response to GDB commands that accept it. Now, let's add a test for this intended behavior. Running this test before the fix from the previous commit fails as QEMU sends a stop-reply packet asynchronously, when GDB was in fact waiting an ACK. 2023-03-07testing: probe gdb for supported architectures ahead of timeAlex Bennée
Currently when we encounter a gdb that is old or not built with multiarch in mind we fail rather messily. Try and improve the situation by probing ahead of time and setting HOST_GDB_SUPPORTS_ARCH=y in the relevant tcg configs. We can then skip and give a more meaningful message if we don't run the test. Coccinelle messes up vmdk_co_create(), not sure why. Change dropped, will be done manually in the next commit. Line breaks in target/avr/cpu.h and hw/rdma/vmw/pvrdma_cmd.c tidied up manually. Whitespace in tools/virtiofsd/fuse_lowlevel.c tidied up manually. checkpatch.pl complains "return of an errno should typically be -ve" two times for hw/9pfs/9p-synth.c. Preexisting, the patch merely makes it visible to checkpatch.pl. 2022-07-06tests/tcg: compile system emulation tests as freestandingPaolo Bonzini
System emulation tests do not run in a hosted environment, since they do not link with libc. They should only use freestanding headers (float.h, limits.h, stdarg.h, stddef.h, stdbool.h, stdint.h, stdalign.h, stdnoreturn.h) and should be compiled with -ffreestanding in order to use the compiler implementation of those headers rather than the one in libc. The two more or less overlap, because CONFIG_LINUX is a requirement for Linux user-mode emulation. However, CONFIG_LINUX is technically a host symbol that applies even to system emulation. Defining CONFIG_LINUX_USER, and CONFIG_BSD_USER for eventual future use, is cleaner. Respond with Txxthread:yyyy; instead of a plain Sxx to indicate which thread received the signal. Otherwise, the debugger will associate it with the main one. 2021-10-12tests/tcg: move some multiarch files and make conditionalAlex Bennée
We had some messy code to filter out stuff we can't build. Lets junk that and simplify the logic by pushing some stuff into subdirs. In particular we move: float_helpers into libs - not a standalone test linux-test into linux - so we only build on Linux hosts This allows for at least some of the tests to be nominally usable by *BSD user builds.
