2023-10-31tests/tcg: Add -fno-stack-protectorAkihiko Odaki
A build of GCC 13.2 will have stack protector enabled by default if it was configured with --enable-default-ssp option. For such a compiler, it is necessary to explicitly disable stack protector when linking without standard libraries. 2023-04-27tests/tcg: limit the scope of the plugin testsAlex Bennée
Running every plugin with every test is getting excessive as well as not really improving coverage that much. Restrict the plugin tests to just the MULTIARCH_TESTS which are shared between most architecture for both system and user-mode. For those that aren't we need to squash MULTIARCH_TESTS so we don't add them when they are not part of the TESTS global. 2022-10-06tests/tcg: clean up calls to run-testPaolo Bonzini
Almost all invocations of run-test have either "$* on $(TARGET_NAME)" or "$< on $(TARGET_NAME)" as the last argument. So provide a default test name, while allowing an escape hatch for custom names. As an additional simplification, remove the need to do shell quoting. 2020-05-06tests/tcg: add a multiarch linux-user gdb testAlex Bennée
When the gdbstub code was converted to the new API we missed a few snafus in the various guests. 2019-09-10tests/tcg: move configuration to a sub-shell scriptPaolo Bonzini
Avoid the repeated inclusions of config-target.mak, which have risks of namespace pollution, and instead build minimal configuration files in a configuration script. The same configuration files can also be included in Makefile and Makefile.qemu [AJB 10/09/19] In the original PR this had inadvertently enabled tests for ppc64abi32. However as the rest of the multiarch tests work rather than disabling the otherwise correctly functioning build I've just skipped the failing linux-test test. For some reason I can't debug it with TCG so I'm leaving that to the PPC maintainers to look at. 2019-03-12tests/tcg: enable cris base user-mode testsAlex Bennée
This converts the existing Makefile into a Makefile.target and updates it so it can be called by the tcg build system. The original Makefile didn't set -cpu except for the v17 tests however that has broken (I assume because linux-user is a "max" cpu) so here I force it to be crisv17. I've also replicated the GNU simulator targets (run-FOO-on-sim). Signed-off-by: Alex Bennée <alex.bennee@linaro.org>

2019-03-12tests/tcg: split cris tests into bare and libc directoriesAlex Bennée
Bare tests are standalone assembly tests that don't require linking to any libc and hence can be built with kernel only compilers. The libc tests need a compiler capable of building properly linked userspace binaries. As we don't have such a cross compiler at the moment we won't be building those tests. 2019-03-12tests/tcg/cris: cleanup sys.cAlex Bennée
This is a mini library which provides helper functions to the tests which are all currently written in assembly. A bunch of minor changes: - removed libc related headers (fedora-cris-cross is a system compiler) - re-organised the functions to avoid forward declarations - cleaned up brace usage - restored exit for _fail case - removed tabs and fixed indentation Signed-off-by: Alex Bennée <alex.bennee@linaro.org>
2019-01-11avoid TABs in files that only contain a fewPaolo Bonzini
Most files that have TABs only contain a handful of them. Change them to spaces so that we don't confuse people. disas, standard-headers, linux-headers and libdecnumber are imported from other projects and probably should be exempted from the check. Outside those, after this patch the following files still contain both 8-space and TAB sequences at the beginning of the line. 2017-07-11tests: Avoid non-portable 'echo -ARG'Eric Blake
POSIX says that backslashes in the arguments to 'echo', as well as any use of 'echo -n' and 'echo -e', are non-portable; it recommends people should favor 'printf' instead. This is definitely true where we do not control which shell is running (such as in makefile snippets or in documentation examples). But even for scripts where we require bash (and therefore, where echo does what we want by default), it is still possible to use 'shopt -s xpg_echo' to change bash's behavior of echo. And setting a good example never hurts when we are not sure if a snippet will be copied from a bash-only script to a general shell script (although I don't change the use of non-portable \e for ESC when we know the running shell is bash). Replace 'echo -n "..."' with 'printf %s "..."', and 'echo -e "..."' with 'printf %b "...\n"', with the optimization that the %s/%b argument can be omitted if the string being printed is a strict literal with no '%', '$', or '`' (we could technically also make this optimization when there are $ or `` substitutions but where we can prove their results will not be problematic, but proving that such substitutions are safe makes the patch less trivial compared to just being consistent). In the qemu-iotests check script, fix unusual shell quoting that would result in word-splitting if 'date' outputs a space. In test 051, take an opportunity to shorten the line. In test 068, get rid of a pointless second invocation of bash.
