2020-01-12test: Move qtests to a separate directoryThomas Huth
The tests directory itself is pretty overcrowded, and it's hard to see which test belongs to which test subsystem (unit, qtest, ...). Let's move the qtests to a separate folder for more clarity. 2019-05-21tests/qom-test: Use qtest_init() instead of qtest_start()Thomas Huth
qtest_start() + qtest_end() should be avoided, since they use the global_qtest variable that we want to get rid of in the long run. Use qtest_init() and qtest_quit() instead. Message-Id: <20190515174328.16361-5-thuth@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Huth <thuth@redhat.com>
2018-08-23tests: Skip old versioned machine types in quick testing modeThomas Huth
The tests that check something for all machine types currently spend a lot of time checking old machine types (like "pc-i440fx-2.0" for example). The chances that we find something new there in addition to checking the latest version of a machine type are pretty low, so we should not waste the time of the developers by testing this again and again in the "quick" testing mode. Thus let's add some code to determine whether we are testing a current machine type or an old one, and only test the old types if we are running in "SPEED=slow" mode. This decreases the testing time quite a bit now, e.g. the qom-test now finishes within 4 seconds for qemu-system-x86_64 instead of 30 seconds when testing all machines. 2018-05-04qobject: Replace qobject_incref/QINCREF qobject_decref/QDECREFMarc-André Lureau
Now that we can safely call QOBJECT() on QObject * as well as its subtypes, we can have macros qobject_ref() / qobject_unref() that work everywhere instead of having to use QINCREF() / QDECREF() for QObject and qobject_incref() / qobject_decref() for its subtypes. The replacement is mechanical, except I broke a long line, and added a cast in monitor_qmp_cleanup_req_queue_locked(). Unlike qobject_decref(), qobject_unref() doesn't accept void *. Note that the new macros evaluate their argument exactly once, thus no need to shout them. This patch was generated using the following Coccinelle script: @@ expression Obj; @@ ( - qobject_to_qnum(Obj) + qobject_to(QNum, Obj) | - qobject_to_qstring(Obj) + qobject_to(QString, Obj) | - qobject_to_qdict(Obj) + qobject_to(QDict, Obj) | - qobject_to_qlist(Obj) + qobject_to(QList, Obj) | - qobject_to_qbool(Obj) + qobject_to(QBool, Obj) ) and a bit of manual fix-up for overly long lines and three places in tests/check-qjson.c that Coccinelle did not find. 2018-02-09Eliminate qapi/qmp/types.hMarkus Armbruster
qapi/qmp/types.h is a convenience header to include a number of qapi/qmp/ headers. Since we rarely need all of the headers qapi/qmp/types.h includes, we bypass it most of the time. Most of the places that use it don't need all the headers, either. Include the necessary headers directly, and drop qapi/qmp/types.h. 2014-07-01libqtest: escape strings in QMP commands, fix leakPaolo Bonzini
libqtest is using g_strdup_printf to format QMP commands, but this does not work if the argument strings need to be escaped. Instead, use the fancy %-formatting functionality of QObject. The only change required in tests is that strings have to be formatted as %s, not '%s' or \"%s\". Luckily this usage of parameterized QMP commands is not that frequent. The leak is in socket_sendf. Since we are extracting the send loop to a new function, fix it now. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>

2013-11-19qtest: Use -display none by defaultAndreas Färber
This avoids each test needing to add it to suppress windows popping up. [Commit 7ceeedd016facf8d58e14a0d1417fa7225d71072 ("blockdev-test: add test case for drive_add duplicate IDs") and commit 43cd209803d6cffb1e1a028c9ff2fd0ff4fce954 ("qdev-monitor-test: add device_add leak test cases") added qtest tests without specifying -display none. As a result, "make check" now tries to use graphics (GTK or SDL). Since graphics are not used by the test and inappropriate for headless "make check" runs, add the missing -display none. This fixes "make check" in the QEMU buildbot. -- Stefan] Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Stefan Hajnoczi <stefanha@redhat.com>
