2019-09-13iotests: exclude killed processes from running under ValgrindAndrey Shinkevich
The Valgrind tool fails to manage its termination in multi-threaded processes when they raise the signal SIGKILL. The bug has been reported to the Valgrind maintainers and was registered as the bug #409141: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409141 Let's exclude such test cases from running under the Valgrind until a new version with the bug fix is released because checking for the memory issues is covered by other test cases. 2019-03-08qemu-iotests: Improve portability by searching bash in the $PATHPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
Bash is not always installed as /bin/bash. In particular on OpenBSD, the package installs it in /usr/local/bin. Use the 'env' shebang to search bash in the $PATH. Patch created mechanically by running: $ git grep -lE '#! ?/bin/bash' -- tests/qemu-iotests \ | while read f; do \ sed -i 's|^#!.\?/bin/bash$|#!/usr/bin/env bash|' $f; \ done Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2018-11-19qemu-iotests: remove unused variable 'here'Mao Zhongyi
Running git grep '\$here' tests/qemu-iotests has 0 hits, which means we are setting a variable that has no use. It appears that commit e8f8624d removed the last use. So execute the following cmd to remove all of the 'here=...' lines as dead code. sed -i '/^here=/d' $(git grep -l '^here=' tests/qemu-iotests) Cc: kwolf@redhat.com Cc: mreitz@redhat.com Cc: eblake@redhat.com Suggested-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Mao Zhongyi <maozhongyi@cmss.chinamobile.com> Message-Id: <20181024094051.4470-3-maozhongyi@cmss.chinamobile.com> Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> [eblake: touch up commit message, reorder series, rebase to master] Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com>
2018-10-01qcow2: Assign the L2 cache relatively to the image sizeLeonid Bloch
Sufficient L2 cache can noticeably improve the performance when using large images with frequent I/O. Previously, unless 'cache-size' was specified and was large enough, the L2 cache was set to a certain size without taking the virtual image size into account. Now, the L2 cache assignment is aware of the virtual size of the image, and will cover the entire image, unless the cache size needed for that is larger than a certain maximum. This maximum is set to 1 MB by default (enough to cover an 8 GB image with the default cluster size) but can be increased or decreased using the 'l2-cache-size' option. This option was previously documented as the *maximum* L2 cache size, and this patch makes it behave as such, instead of as a constant size. Also, the existing option 'cache-size' can limit the sum of both L2 and refcount caches, as previously.
