2019-03-08qemu-iotests: Improve portability by searching bash in the $PATHPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
Bash is not always installed as /bin/bash. In particular on OpenBSD, the package installs it in /usr/local/bin. Use the 'env' shebang to search bash in the $PATH. Patch created mechanically by running: $ git grep -lE '#! ?/bin/bash' -- tests/qemu-iotests \ | while read f; do \ sed -i 's|^#!.\?/bin/bash$|#!/usr/bin/env bash|' $f; \ done Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2018-11-19qemu-iotests: remove unused variable 'here'Mao Zhongyi
Running git grep '\$here' tests/qemu-iotests has 0 hits, which means we are setting a variable that has no use. It appears that commit e8f8624d removed the last use. So execute the following cmd to remove all of the 'here=...' lines as dead code. sed -i '/^here=/d' $(git grep -l '^here=' tests/qemu-iotests) Cc: kwolf@redhat.com Cc: mreitz@redhat.com Cc: eblake@redhat.com Suggested-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Mao Zhongyi <maozhongyi@cmss.chinamobile.com> Message-Id: <20181024094051.4470-3-maozhongyi@cmss.chinamobile.com> Reviewed-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> [eblake: touch up commit message, reorder series, rebase to master] Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com>
2017-04-03iotests: Improve image-clear tests on non-aligned imageEric Blake
Tweak 097 and 176 to operate on an image that is not cluster-aligned, to give further coverage of clearing out an entire image, including the recent fix to eliminate the difference between fast path (97) and slow (176) for qcow2. Also tested on qcow (97 only, since qcow lacks snapshots). 2017-04-03iotests: fix 097 when run with qcowDaniel P. Berrange
The previous commit: commit a3e1505daec31ef56f0489f8c8fff1b8e4ca92bd Author: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> Date: Mon Dec 5 09:49:34 2016 -0600 qcow2: Don't strand clusters near 2G intervals during commit extended the 097 test case so that it did two passes, once with an internal snapshot, once without. qcow (v1) does not support internal snapshots, so this change broke test 097 when run against qcow. This splits 097 in two, creating a new 176 that tests the internal snapshot codepath, effectively putting 097 back to its content before the above commit. 2016-12-06qcow2: Don't strand clusters near 2G intervals during commitEric Blake
The qcow2_make_empty() function is reached during 'qemu-img commit', in order to clear out ALL clusters of an image. However, if the image cannot use the fast code path (true if the image is format 0.10, or if the image contains a snapshot), the cluster size is larger than 512, and the image is larger than 2G in size, then our choice of sector_step causes problems. Since it is not cluster aligned, but qcow2_discard_clusters() silently ignores an unaligned head or tail, we are leaving clusters allocated. Enhance the testsuite to expose the flaw, and patch the problem by ensuring our step size is aligned. 2016-04-15qemu-iotests: tests: do not set unused tmp variableSascha Silbe
The previous commit removed the last usage of ${tmp} inside the tests themselves; the only remaining users are sourced by check. So we can now drop this variable from the tests. 2014-11-03iotests: Add test for backing-chain commitsMax Reitz
Add a test for qemu-img commit on backing chains with more than two images. This test also checks whether the top image is emptied (unless this is prevented by specifying either -d or -b) and does therefore not work for qed and vmdk which requires it to be separate from 020.
