2015-10-19tcg/mips: Support r6 multiply/divide encodingsJames Hogan
MIPSr6 adds several new integer multiply, divide, and modulo instructions, and removes several pre-r6 encodings, along with the HI/LO registers which were the implicit operands of some of those instructions. Update TCG to use the new instructions when built for r6. The new instructions actually map much more directly to the TCG ops, as they only provide a single 32-bit half of the result and in a normal general purpose register instead of HI or LO. The mulu2_i32 and muls2_i32 operations are no longer appropriate for r6, so they are removed from the TCG opcode table. This is because they would need to emit two separate host instructions anyway (for the high and low half of the result), which TCG can arrange automatically for us in the absense of mulu2_i32/muls2_i32 by splitting it into mul_i32 and mul*h_i32 TCG ops. 2015-10-19tcg/mips: Add use_mips32r6_instructions definitionJames Hogan

2013-09-03tcg/mips: only enable ext8s/ext16s ops on MIPS32R2Aurelien Jarno
On MIPS ext8s and ext16s ops are implemented with a dedicated instruction only on MIPS32R2, otherwise the same kind of implementation than at TCG level (shift left followed by shift right) is used. Change that by only implementing the ext8s and ext16s ops on MIPS32R2 so that optimizations can be done by the optimizer. Use an inline version to avoid having to test again for MIPS32R2 instructions. Keep the shift implementation for the ld/st routines. 2013-09-03tcg/mips: detect available host instructions at runtimeAurelien Jarno
Now that TCG supports enabling and disabling ops at runtime, it's possible to detect the available host instructions at runtime, and enable the corresponding ops accordingly. Unfortunately it's not easy to probe for available instructions on MIPS, the information is partially available in /proc/cpuinfo, and not available in AUXV. This patch therefore probes for the instructions by trying to execute them and by catching a possible SIGILL signal. 2010-04-14tcp/mips: Change TCG_AREG0 (fp -> s0)Stefan Weil
Register fp (frame pointer) is a bad choice for compilations without optimisation, because the compiler makes heavy use of this register (so the resulting code crashes). Register s0 had been used for TCG_AREG1 in earlier releases, but was no longer used and is now free for TCG_AREG0. The resulting code works for compilations without optimisation (tested with qemu mips in qemu mips on x86 host). 2009-12-01tcg: initial mips supportAurelien Jarno
Based on a patch from Arnaud Patard (Rtp) <arnaud.patard@rtp-net.org> A few words about design choices: * Two registers, at and t0, are reserved for TCG internal use. They are useful for bswap and 64-bit ops. * Most ops supports a constant argument with value 0, which is actually mapped to the zero register. * While the at register is available for constant loading, ops only support a limited range of constants. TCG does a better job doing the register allocation and constant loading by itself. There are plenty of registers available anyway. Signed-off-by: Aurelien Jarno <aurelien@aurel32.net>
