2019-06-10tcg: Split out target/arch/cpu-param.hRichard Henderson
For all targets, into this new file move TARGET_LONG_BITS, TARGET_PAGE_BITS, TARGET_PHYS_ADDR_SPACE_BITS, TARGET_VIRT_ADDR_SPACE_BITS, and NB_MMU_MODES. Include this new file from exec/cpu-defs.h. This now removes the somewhat odd requirement that target/arch/cpu.h defines TARGET_LONG_BITS before including exec/cpu-defs.h, so push the bulk of the includes within target/arch/cpu.h to the top. 2019-04-18qom/cpu: Simplify how CPUClass:cpu_dump_state() printsMarkus Armbruster
CPUClass method dump_statistics() takes an fprintf()-like callback and a FILE * to pass to it. Most callers pass fprintf() and stderr. log_cpu_state() passes fprintf() and qemu_log_file. hmp_info_registers() passes monitor_fprintf() and the current monitor cast to FILE *. monitor_fprintf() casts it right back, and is otherwise identical to monitor_printf(). The callback gets passed around a lot, which is tiresome. The type-punning around monitor_fprintf() is ugly. Drop the callback, and call qemu_fprintf() instead. Also gets rid of the type-punning, since qemu_fprintf() takes NULL instead of the current monitor cast to FILE *. Signed-off-by: Markus Armbruster <armbru@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Dr. David Alan Gilbert <dgilbert@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20190417191805.28198-15-armbru@redhat.com>
2019-04-18target: Clean up how the dump_mmu() printMarkus Armbruster
The various dump_mmu() take an fprintf()-like callback and a FILE * to pass to it, and so do their helper functions. Passing around callback and argument is rather tiresome. Most dump_mmu() are called only by the target's hmp_info_tlb(). These all pass monitor_printf() cast to fprintf_function and the current monitor cast to FILE *. SPARC's dump_mmu() gets also called from target/sparc/ldst_helper.c a few times #ifdef DEBUG_MMU. These calls pass fprintf() and stdout. The type-punning is technically undefined behaviour, but works in practice. Clean up: drop the callback, and call qemu_printf() instead. Signed-off-by: Markus Armbruster <armbru@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Dr. David Alan Gilbert <dgilbert@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20190417191805.28198-11-armbru@redhat.com>
2019-04-18target: Simplify how the TARGET_cpu_list() printMarkus Armbruster
The various TARGET_cpu_list() take an fprintf()-like callback and a FILE * to pass to it. Their callers (vl.c's main() via list_cpus(), bsd-user/main.c's main(), linux-user/main.c's main()) all pass fprintf() and stdout. Thus, the flexibility provided by the (rather tiresome) indirection isn't actually used. Drop the callback, and call qemu_printf() instead. Calling printf() would also work, but would make the code unsuitable for monitor context without making it simpler. 2018-01-25accel/tcg: add size paremeter in tlb_fill()Laurent Vivier
The MC68040 MMU provides the size of the access that triggers the page fault. This size is set in the Special Status Word which is written in the stack frame of the access fault exception. So we need the size in m68k_cpu_unassigned_access() and m68k_cpu_handle_mmu_fault(). To be able to do that, this patch modifies the prototype of handle_mmu_fault handler, tlb_fill() and probe_write(). do_unassigned_access() already includes a size parameter. 2017-10-24tcg: Initialize cpu_env genericallyRichard Henderson
This is identical for each target. So, move the initialization to common code. Move the variable itself out of tcg_ctx and name it cpu_env to minimize changes within targets. This also means we can remove tcg_global_reg_new_{ptr,i32,i64}, since there are no longer global-register temps created by targets. Reviewed-by: Emilio G. 2017-10-24tcg: define tcg_init_ctx and make tcg_ctx a pointerEmilio G. Cota
Groundwork for supporting multiple TCG contexts. The core of this patch is this change to tcg/tcg.h: > -extern TCGContext tcg_ctx; > +extern TCGContext tcg_init_ctx; > +extern TCGContext *tcg_ctx; Note that for now we set *tcg_ctx to whatever TCGContext is passed to tcg_context_init -- in this case &tcg_init_ctx. 2017-10-24tcg: convert tb->cflags reads to tb_cflags(tb)Emilio G. Cota
Convert all existing readers of tb->cflags to tb_cflags, so that we use atomic_read and therefore avoid undefined behaviour in C11. Note that the remaining setters/getters of the field are protected by tb_lock, and therefore do not need conversion. Luckily all readers access the field via 'tb->cflags' (so no foo.cflags, bar->cflags in the code base), which makes the conversion easily scriptable: FILES=$(git grep 'tb->cflags' target include/exec/gen-icount.h \ accel/tcg/translator.c | cut -f1 -d':' | sort | uniq) perl -pi -e 's/([^.>])tb->cflags/$1tb_cflags(tb)/g' $FILES perl -pi -e 's/([a-z->.]*)(->|\.)tb->cflags/tb_cflags($1$2tb)/g' $FILES Then manually fixed the few errors that checkpatch reported. 2017-10-24tcg: Remove GET_TCGV_* and MAKE_TCGV_*Richard Henderson
The GET and MAKE functions weren't really specific enough. We now have a full complement of functions that convert exactly between temporaries, arguments, tcgv pointers, and indices. 2017-09-27migration: pre_save return intDr. David Alan Gilbert
Modify the pre_save method on VMStateDescription to return an int rather than void so that it potentially can fail. Changed zillions of devices to make them return 0; the only case I've made it return non-0 is hw/intc/s390_flic_kvm.c that already had an error_report/return case. Note: If you add an error exit in your pre_save you must emit an error_report to say why. 2017-09-01sparc: make cpu feature parsing property basedIgor Mammedov
with features converted to properties we can use the same approach as x86 for features parsing and drop legacy approach that manipulated CPU instance directly. New sparc_cpu_parse_features() will allow only +-feat and explicitly disable feat=on|off syntax for now. With that in place and sparc_cpu_parse_features() providing generic CPUClass::parse_features callback, the cpu_sparc_init() will do the same job as cpu_generic_init() so replace content of cpu_sparc_init() with it. 2017-09-01sparc: move adhoc CPUSPARCState initialization to realize timeIgor Mammedov
SPARCCPU::env was initialized from previously set properties (with help of sparc_cpu_parse_features) in cpu_sparc_register(). However there is not reason to keep it there as this task is typically done at realize time.
