2024-07-11target: Set TCGCPUOps::cpu_exec_halt to target's has_work implementationPeter Maydell
Currently the TCGCPUOps::cpu_exec_halt method is optional, and if it is not set then the default is to call the CPUClass::has_work method (which has an identical function signature). We would like to make the cpu_exec_halt method mandatory so we can remove the runtime check and fallback handling. In preparation for that, make all the targets which don't need special handling in their cpu_exec_halt set it to their cpu_has_work implementation instead of leaving it unset. (This is every target except for arm and i386.) In the riscv case this requires us to make the function not be local to the source file it's defined in. 2023-11-07target/riscv: Use env_archcpu() in [check_]nanbox()Philippe Mathieu-Daudé
When CPUArchState* is available (here CPURISCVState*), we can use the fast env_archcpu() macro to get ArchCPU* (here RISCVCPU*). The QOM cast RISCV_CPU() macro will be slower when building with --enable-qom-cast-debug. Inspired-by: Richard W.M. 2023-05-05target/riscv: Reduce overhead of MSTATUS_SUM changeFei Wu
Kernel needs to access user mode memory e.g. during syscalls, the window is usually opened up for a very limited time through MSTATUS.SUM, the overhead is too much if tlb_flush() gets called for every SUM change. This patch creates a separate MMU index for S+SUM, so that it's not necessary to flush tlb anymore when SUM changes. This is similar to how ARM handles Privileged Access Never (PAN). Result of 'pipe 10' from unixbench boosts from 223656 to 1705006. Many other syscalls benefit a lot from this too. 2022-09-07target/riscv: rvv: Add mask agnostic for vv instructionsYueh-Ting (eop) Chen
According to v-spec, mask agnostic behavior can be either kept as undisturbed or set elements' bits to all 1s. To distinguish the difference of mask policies, QEMU should be able to simulate the mask agnostic behavior as "set mask elements' bits to all 1s". There are multiple possibility for agnostic elements according to v-spec. The main intent of this patch-set tries to add option that can distinguish between mask policies. Setting agnostic elements to all 1s allows QEMU to express this. This is the first commit regarding the optional mask agnostic behavior. Follow-up commits will add this optional behavior for all rvv instructions.
