Our linker script for optionroms specifies only the placement of the
.text section, leaving the linker free to place the remaining sections
at arbitrary places in the file.
Since at least binutils 2.39, the .note.gnu.build-id section is now
being placed at the start of the file, which causes label addresses to
be shifted. For linuxboot_dma.bin that means that the PnP header
(among others) will not be found when determining the type of ROM at
optionrom_setup():
(0x1c is the label _pnph, where the magic "PnP" is)
$ xxd /usr/share/qemu/linuxboot_dma.bin | grep "PnP"
00000010: 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 1c00 2450 6e50 ............$PnP
$ xxd pc-bios/optionrom/linuxboot_dma.bin | grep "PnP"
00000010: 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 4c00 2450 6e50 ............$PnP
^bad
Using a freshly built linuxboot_dma.bin ROM results in a broken boot:
SeaBIOS (version rel-1.16.2-0-gea1b7a073390-prebuilt.qemu.org)
Booting from Hard Disk...
Boot failed: could not read the boot disk
Booting from Floppy...
Boot failed: could not read the boot disk
No bootable device.
We're not using the build-id section, so pass the --build-id=none
option to the linker to remove it entirely.
Note: In theory, this same issue could happen with any other
section. The ideal solution would be to have all unused sections
discarded in the linker script. However that would be a larger change,
specially for the pvh rom which uses the .bss and COMMON sections so
I'm addressing only the immediate issue here.

Block-TLB support and linux-user fixes for hppa target
All 32-bit hppa CPUs allow a fixed number of TLB entries to have a
different page size than the default 4k.
Those are called "Block-TLBs" and are created at startup by the
operating system and managed by the firmware of hppa machines
through the firmware PDC_BLOCK_TLB call.
This patchset adds the necessary glue to SeaBIOS-hppa and
qemu to allow up to 16 BTLB entries in the emulation.
Two patches from Mikulas Patocka fix signal delivery issues
in linux-user on hppa.

start.S currently cannot be compiled with Clang 16 and binutils 2.40:
ld: start.o(.text+0x8): misaligned symbol `__bss_start' (0xc1e5) for
relocation R_390_PC32DBL
According to the built-in linker script of ld, the symbol __bss_start
can actually point *before* the .bss section and does not need to have
any alignment, so in certain situations (like when using the internal
assembler of Clang), the __bss_start symbol can indeed be unaligned
and thus it is not suitable for being used with the "larl" instruction
that needs an address that is at least aligned to halfwords.
The problem went unnoticed so far since binutils <= 2.39 did not
check the alignment, but starting with binutils 2.40, such unaligned
addresses are now refused.
Fix it by loading the address indirectly instead.

The stack array is only referenced from the start-up code (which is
shared between the s390-ccw.img and the s390-netboot.img), but it is
currently declared twice, once in main.c and once in netmain.c.
It makes more sense to declare this in start.S instead - which will
also be helpful in the next patch, since we need to mention the .bss
section in start.S in that patch.
While we're at it, let's also drop the huge alignment of the stack,
since there is no technical requirement for aligning it to page
boundaries.

Providing the space of a stack frame is the duty of the caller,
so we should reserve 160 bytes before jumping into the main function.
Otherwise the main() function might write past the stack array.
While we're at it, add a proper STACK_SIZE macro for the stack size
instead of using magic numbers (this is also required for the following
patch).

start.S is currently indented with a mixture of spaces and tabs, which
is quite ugly. QEMU coding style says indentation should be 4 spaces,
and this is also what we are using in the assembler files in the

The types starting with double underscores have likely been
introduced into the s390-ccw bios to be able to re-use structs
from the Linux kernel in the past, but the corresponding structs
in cio.h have been changed there a long time ago already to not
use the variants with the double underscores anymore:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/diff/drivers/s390/cio/cio.h?id=cd6b4f27b9bb2a
So it would be good to replace these in the s390-ccw bios now, too.

The xkb official name for the Arabic keyboard layout is 'ara'.
However xkb has for at least the past 15 years also permitted it to
be named via the legacy synonym 'ar'. In xkeyboard-config 2.39 this
synoynm was removed, which breaks compilation of QEMU:

https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xkeyboard-config/xkeyboard-config/-/commit/470ad2cd8fea84d7210377161d86b31999bb5ea6
Make QEMU always ask for the 'ara' xkb layout, which should work on
both older and newer xkeyboard-config. We leave the QEMU name for
this keyboard layout as 'ar'; it is not the only one where our name
for it deviates from the xkb standard name.

Update SeaBIOS-hppa to version 7 which fixes a boot problem
with Debian-12 install CD images.
The problem with Debian-12 is, that the ramdisc got bigger
than what the firmware could load in one call to the LSI
scsi driver.

In the beginning, the network bootloader was considered experimental and
thus optional, but it is well established nowadays and configure always
checks for roms/SLOF before compiling pc-bios/s390-ccw.
Therefore, it makes sense to always build it together with the other
part of the s390-ccw bios.

Check for a List Directed IPL Boot Record, which would supersede the CCW type
entries. If the record is valid, proceed to use the new style pointers
and perform LD-IPL. Each block pointer is interpreted as either an LD-IPL
pointer or a legacy CCW pointer depending on the type of IPL initiated.
In either case CCW- or LD-IPL is transparent to the user and will boot the same
image regardless of which set of pointers is used. Because the interactive boot
menu is only written with the old style pointers, the menu will be disabled for
List Directed IPL from ECKD DASD.
If the LD-IPL fails, retry the IPL using the CCW type pointers.
If no LD-IPL boot record is found, simply perform CCW type IPL as usual.

When qemu-keymap is not available on the host, and enable-xkbcommon
is specified, parallel make fails with:
% make clean
...
% make -j 32
...
FAILED: pc-bios/keymaps/is
./qemu-keymap -f pc-bios/keymaps/is -l is
/bin/sh: ./qemu-keymap: No such file or directory
... many similar messages ...
The code always runs find_program, rather than waiting to build
qemu-keymap, because it looks for CONFIG_XKBCOMMON in config_host
rather than config_host_data. Making serially succeeds, by soft
linking files from pc-bios/keymaps, but that is not the desired
result for enable-xkbcommon.
Examining all occurrences of 'in config_host' for similar bugs shows one
instance in the docs, which is also fixed here.

It's been deprecated since QEMU v6.2, so it should be OK to
finally remove this now.

Fix typos (discovered with the 'codespell' utility).
Note: Though "migrateable" still seems to be a valid spelling, we change
it to "migratable" since this is the way more common spelling here.

In preparation for adding Docker container support, detect compiler options
just once rather than once per Make run; container startup overhead is
substantial and doing the detection just once makes things faster.

Just use using the compiler binary, with -nostdlib in the case of the
linker; the compiler driver (whether i686-*-gcc, or x86_64-*-gcc with
the -m32 option) will then pick the right magic option to as and ld.

df22fbb751 ("qboot: update to latest submodule") updated the qboot
submodule from a5300c49 to 8ca302e8. However, qboot isn't built during
the QEMU's build process but rather is included in binary form. So
rebuild it here.
