2016-01-29migration: Clean up includesPeter Maydell
Clean up includes so that osdep.h is included first and headers which it implies are not included manually. This commit was created with scripts/clean-includes. Signed-off-by: Peter Maydell <peter.maydell@linaro.org> Message-id: 1453832250-766-2-git-send-email-peter.maydell@linaro.org
2015-12-03migration: Clean up use of g_poll() in socket_writev_buffer()Markus Armbruster
socket_writev_buffer() writes in a loop, using g_poll() to block. If g_poll() fails, it tries to write more before the file descriptor is ready. In theory, this could go into a tight loop. In practice, errors other than EINTR are really unlikely, and when they happen, we're probably screwed anyway, so we can just as well loop. Clean it up a bit: retry poll on EINTR, keep ignoring other errors. 2015-11-10Return path: socket_writev_buffer: Block even on non-blocking fd'sDr. David Alan Gilbert
The destination sets the fd to non-blocking on incoming migrations; this also affects the return path from the destination, and thus we need to make sure we can safely write to the return path. 2015-11-10Return path: Open a return path on QEMUFile for socketsDr. David Alan Gilbert
Postcopy needs a method to send messages from the destination back to the source, this is the 'return path'. Wire it up for 'socket' QEMUFile's. 2015-10-20coroutine: move into libqemuutil.a libraryDaniel P. Berrange
The coroutine files are currently referenced by the block-obj-y variable. The coroutine functionality though is already used by more than just the block code. eg migration code uses coroutine yield. In the future the I/O channel code will also use the coroutine yield functionality. Since the coroutine code is nicely self-contained it can be easily built as part of the libqemuutil.a library, making it widely available. The headers are also moved into include/qemu, instead of the include/block directory, since they are now part of the util codebase, and the impl was never in the block/ directory either. 2015-09-29migration: Use g_new() & friends where that makes obvious senseMarkus Armbruster
g_new(T, n) is neater than g_malloc(sizeof(T) * n). It's also safer, for two reasons. One, it catches multiplication overflowing size_t. Two, it returns T * rather than void *, which lets the compiler catch more type errors. This commit only touches allocations with size arguments of the form sizeof(T). Same Coccinelle semantic patch as in commit b45c03f. 2015-09-29migration: size_t'ify some of qemu-fileDr. David Alan Gilbert
This is a start on using size_t more in qemu-file and friends; it fixes up QEMUFilePutBufferFunc and QEMUFileGetBufferFunc to take size_t lengths and return ssize_t return values (like read(2)) and fixes up all the different implementations of them. Note that I've not yet followed this deeply into bdrv_ implementations. 2015-01-16socket shutdownDr. David Alan Gilbert
Add QEMUFile interface to allow a socket to be 'shut down' - i.e. any reads/writes will fail (and any blocking read/write will be woken). 2014-12-16Start migrating migration code into a migration directoryDr. David Alan Gilbert
The migration code now occupies a fair chunk of the top level .c files, it seems time to give it it's own directory. I've not touched: arch_init.c - that's mostly RAM migration but has a few random other bits savevm.c - because it's built target specific This is purely a code move; no code has changed. - it fails checkpatch because of old violations, it feels safer to keep this as purely a move and fix those at some mythical future date. The xbzrle and vmstate tests are now only run for softmmu builds since they require files in the migrate/ directory which is only built for softmmu.
