2022-06-22migration: introduce new constructors for QEMUFileDaniel P. Berrangé
Prepare for the elimination of QEMUFileOps by introducing a pair of new constructors. This lets us distinguish between an input and output file object explicitly rather than via the existance of specific callbacks. 2022-06-22migration: hardcode assumption that QEMUFile is backed with QIOChannelDaniel P. Berrangé
The only callers of qemu_fopen_ops pass 'true' for the 'has_ioc' parameter, so hardcode this assumption in QEMUFile, by passing in the QIOChannel object as a non-opaque parameter. 2021-07-26migration: Move the yank unregister of channel_close outPeter Xu
It's efficient, but hackish to call yank unregister calls in channel_close(), especially it'll be hard to debug when qemu crashed with some yank function leaked. Remove that hack, but instead explicitly unregister yank functions at the places where needed, they are: (on src) - migrate_fd_cleanup - postcopy_pause (on dst) - migration_incoming_state_destroy - postcopy_pause_incoming Signed-off-by: Peter Xu <peterx@redhat.com> Message-Id: <20210722175841.938739-6-peterx@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Lukas Straub <lukasstraub2@web.de> Signed-off-by: Dr. David Alan Gilbert <dgilbert@redhat.com>
2021-07-26migration: Teach QEMUFile to be QIOChannel-awarePeter Xu
migration uses QIOChannel typed qemufiles. In follow up patches, we'll need the capability to identify this fact, so that we can get the backing QIOChannel from a QEMUFile. We can also define types for QEMUFile but so far since we only need to be able to identify QIOChannel, introduce a boolean which is simpler. Introduce another helper qemu_file_get_ioc() to return the ioc backend of a qemufile if has_ioc is set. No functional change. 2021-07-26migration: Introduce migration_ioc_[un]register_yank()Peter Xu
There're plenty of places in migration/* that checks against either socket or tls typed ioc for yank operations. Provide two helpers to hide all these information. 2021-06-08yank: Unregister function when using TLS migrationLeonardo Bras
After yank feature was introduced in migration, whenever migration is started using TLS, the following error happens in both source and destination hosts: (qemu) qemu-kvm: ../util/yank.c:107: yank_unregister_instance: Assertion `QLIST_EMPTY(&entry->yankfns)' failed. This happens because of a missing yank_unregister_function() when using qio-channel-tls. Fix this by also allowing TYPE_QIO_CHANNEL_TLS object type to perform yank_unregister_function() in channel_close() and multifd_load_cleanup(). Also, inside migration_channel_connect() and migration_channel_process_incoming() move yank_register_function() so it only runs once on a TLS migration. 2019-08-14migration: Add error_desc for file channel errorsYury Kotov
Currently, there is no information about error if outgoing migration was failed because of file channel errors. Example (QMP session): -> { "execute": "migrate", "arguments": { "uri": "exec:head -c 1" }} <- { "return": {} } ... -> { "execute": "query-migrate" } <- { "return": { "status": "failed" }} // There is not error's description And even in the QEMU's output there is nothing. This patch 1) Adds errp for the most of QEMUFileOps 2) Adds qemu_file_get_error_obj/qemu_file_set_error_obj 3) And finally using of qemu_file_get_error_obj in migration.c And now, the status for the mentioned fail will be: -> { "execute": "query-migrate" } <- { "return": { "status": "failed", "error-desc": "Unable to write to command: Broken pipe" }} Signed-off-by: Yury Kotov <yury-kotov@yandex-team.ru> Message-Id: <20190422103420.15686-1-yury-kotov@yandex-team.ru> Reviewed-by: Dr. David Alan Gilbert <dgilbert@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Dr. David Alan Gilbert <dgilbert@redhat.com>

2016-05-26migration: introduce a new QEMUFile impl based on QIOChannelDaniel P. Berrange
Introduce a new QEMUFile implementation that is based on the QIOChannel objects. This impl is different from existing impls in that there is no file descriptor that can be made available, as some channels may be based on higher level protocols such as TLS. Although the QIOChannel based implementation can trivially provide a bi-directional stream, initially we have separate functions for opening input & output directions to fit with the expectation of the current QEMUFile interface.
