2019-08-16Clean up inclusion of sysemu/sysemu.hMarkus Armbruster
In my "build everything" tree, changing sysemu/sysemu.h triggers a recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). Almost a third of its inclusions are actually superfluous. Delete them. Downgrade two more to qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h, and move one from char/serial.h to char/serial.c. hw/semihosting/config.c, monitor/monitor.c, qdev-monitor.c, and stubs/semihost.c define variables declared in sysemu/sysemu.h without including it. The compiler is cool with that, but include it anyway. This doesn't reduce actual use much, as it's still included into widely included headers. The next commit will tackle that. 2019-08-16Include hw/hw.h exactly where neededMarkus Armbruster
In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/hw.h triggers a recompile of some 2600 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). The previous commits have left only the declaration of hw_error() in hw/hw.h. This permits dropping most of its inclusions. Touching it now recompiles less than 200 objects. 2019-01-22hw/char/serial: Remove SerialState from "qemu/typedefs.h"Philippe Mathieu-Daudé
Files requiring SerialState already include "hw/char/serial.h". To clean "qemu/typedefs.h", move the declaration to "hw/char/serial.h" (removing the forward declaration). Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Thomas Huth <thuth@redhat.com>
2018-04-26serial-isa: Use MAX_ISA_SERIAL_PORTS instead of MAX_SERIAL_PORTSPeter Maydell
The ISA serial port handling in serial-isa.c imposes a limit of 4 serial ports. This is because we only know of 4 IO port and IRQ settings for them, and is unrelated to the generic MAX_SERIAL_PORTS limit, though they happen to both be set at 4 currently. Use a new MAX_ISA_SERIAL_PORTS wherever that is the correct limit to be checking against. 2017-06-02char: move CharBackend handling in char-fe unitMarc-André Lureau
Move all the frontend struct and methods to a seperate unit. This avoids accidentally mixing backend and frontend calls, and helps with readabilty. Make qemu_chr_replay() a macro shared by both char and char-fe. Export qemu_chr_write(), and use a macro for qemu_chr_write_all() (nb: yes, CharBackend is for char frontend :) Signed-off-by: Marc-André Lureau <marcandre.lureau@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <f4bug@amsat.org>

2016-10-24char: use qemu_chr_fe* functions with CharBackend argumentMarc-André Lureau
This also switches from qemu_chr_add_handlers() to qemu_chr_fe_set_handlers(). 2016-10-24char: replace PROP_CHR with CharBackendMarc-André Lureau
Store the property in a CharBackend instead of CharDriverState*. This also replace systematically chr by chr.chr to access the CharDriverState*. 2016-10-24sun4uv: fix serial initialization regressionMarc-André Lureau
Since commit b6607a1a204d, serial_hds_isa_init() was introduced to factor out serial_isa_init() loops. However, sun4uv shouldn't start from 0 when there is a mm serial on 0 already. Add a "from" argument to serial_hds_isa_init(). 2013-04-08hw: move headers to include/Paolo Bonzini
Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches.
