They can't be plugged with -device / device_add, except for xlnx,zynqmp-pmu-soc, and I doubt that one actually works. They *can* be used with -device / device_add to request help. Usability is poor, though: you have to double the comma, like this: $ qemu-system-x86_64 -device SUNW,,fdtwo,help Trap for the unwary. The fact that this was broken in device-introspect-test for more than six years until commit e27bd49876 fixed it demonstrates that "the unwary" includes seasoned developers. One QOM type name contains ' ': "ICH9 SMB". Because having to remember just one way to quote would be too easy. Rename the "SUNW,FOO types to "sun-FOO". Summarily replace ',' and ' ' by '-' in the other type names. Some typedefs and macros are defined after the type check macros. This makes it difficult to automatically replace their definitions with OBJECT_DECLARE_TYPE. 2020-01-17i.MX: add an emulation for RNGCMartin Kaiser
Add an emulation for the RNGC random number generator and the compatible RNGB variant. These peripherals are included (at least) in imx25 and imx35 chipsets. The emulation supports the initial self test, reseeding the prng and reading random numbers. Back in 2016, we discussed[1] rules for headers, and these were generally liked: 1. Have a carefully curated header that's included everywhere first. We got that already thanks to Peter: osdep.h. 2. Headers should normally include everything they need beyond osdep.h. If exceptions are needed for some reason, they must be documented in the header. If all that's needed from a header is typedefs, put those into qemu/typedefs.h instead of including the header. 3. Cyclic inclusion is forbidden. This patch gets include/ closer to obeying 2. It's actually extracted from my "[RFC] Baby steps towards saner headers" series[2], which demonstrates a possible path towards checking 2 automatically. It passes the RFC test there. The header file hw/arm/arm.h now includes only declarations relating to hw/arm/boot.c functionality. Rename it accordingly, and adjust its header comment. The bulk of this commit was created via perl -pi -e 's|hw/arm/arm.h|hw/arm/boot.h|' hw/arm/*.c include/hw/arm/*.h In a few cases we can just delete the #include: hw/arm/msf2-soc.c, include/hw/arm/aspeed_soc.h and include/hw/arm/bcm2836.h did not require it. 2018-01-11imx_fec: Reserve full FSL_IMX25_FEC_SIZE page for the register fileAndrey Smirnov
Some i.MX SoCs (e.g. i.MX7) have FEC registers going as far as offset 0x614, so to avoid getting aborts when accessing those on QEMU, extend the register file to cover FSL_IMX25_FEC_SIZE(16K) of address space instead of just 1K. 2015-12-17i.MX: Split the CCM class into an abstract base class and a concrete classJean-Christophe Dubois
The IMX_CCM class is now the base abstract class that is used by EPIT and GPT timer implementation. IMX31_CCM class is the concrete class implementing CCM for i.MX31 SOC. For now the i.MX25 continues to use the i.MX31 CCM implementation. An i.MX25 specific CCM will be introduced in a later patch. We also rework initialization to stop using deprecated sysbus device init.
