2017-09-27migration: pre_save return intDr. David Alan Gilbert
Modify the pre_save method on VMStateDescription to return an int rather than void so that it potentially can fail. Changed zillions of devices to make them return 0; the only case I've made it return non-0 is hw/intc/s390_flic_kvm.c that already had an error_report/return case. Note: If you add an error exit in your pre_save you must emit an error_report to say why. Now all the usages of the old version of VMSTATE_VIRTIO_DEVICE are gone, so we can get rid of the conditionals, and the old macro. Signed-off-by: Halil Pasic <pasic@linux.vnet.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst@redhat.com>

2016-09-10vhost-vsock: add virtio sockets deviceStefan Hajnoczi
Implement the new virtio sockets device for host<->guest communication using the Sockets API. Most of the work is done in a vhost kernel driver so that virtio-vsock can hook into the AF_VSOCK address family. The QEMU vhost-vsock device handles configuration and live migration while the rx/tx happens in the vhost_vsock.ko Linux kernel driver. The vsock device must be given a CID (host-wide unique address): # qemu -device vhost-vsock-pci,id=vhost-vsock-pci0,guest-cid=3 ...
