2022-07-12block: Change blk_{pread,pwrite}() param orderAlberto Faria

2022-07-12block: Add a 'flags' param to blk_pread()Alberto Faria

2022-07-12block: Make blk_{pread,pwrite}() return 0 on successAlberto Faria
They currently return the value of their 'bytes' parameter on success. Make them return 0 instead, for consistency with other I/O functions and in preparation to implement them using generated_co_wrapper. This also makes it clear that short reads/writes are not possible. 2021-11-09ppc/pnv: Fix check on block device before updating drive contentsCédric Le Goater
Test is wrong and the backend can never updated. It could have led to a QEMU crash but since the firmware deactivates flash access if a valid layout is not detected, it went unnoticed. 2021-01-27block: Separate blk_is_writable() and blk_supports_write_perm()Kevin Wolf
Currently, blk_is_read_only() tells whether a given BlockBackend can only be used in read-only mode because its root node is read-only. Some callers actually try to answer a slightly different question: Is the BlockBackend configured to be writable, by taking write permissions on the root node? This can differ, for example, for CD-ROM devices which don't take write permissions, but may be backed by a writable image file. scsi-cd allows write requests to the drive if blk_is_read_only() returns false. However, the write request will immediately run into an assertion failure because the write permission is missing. This patch introduces separate functions for both questions. blk_supports_write_perm() answers the question whether the block node/image file can support writable devices, whereas blk_is_writable() tells whether the BlockBackend is currently configured to be writable. All calls of blk_is_read_only() are converted to one of the two new functions. 2020-01-08ppc/pnv: fix check on return value of blk_getlength()Cédric Le Goater
blk_getlength() returns an int64_t but the result is stored in a uint32_t. Errors (negative values) won't be caught by the check in pnv_pnor_realize() and blk_blockalign() will allocate a very large buffer in such cases. Fixes Coverity issue CID 1412226.
