2014-07-15ppc: memory: Replace memory_region_init_ram with ↵Shreyas B. Prabhu
memory_region_allocate_system_memory Commit 0b183fc871:"memory: move mem_path handling to memory_region_allocate_system_memory" split memory_region_init_ram and memory_region_init_ram_from_file. Also it moved mem-path handling a step up from memory_region_init_ram to memory_region_allocate_system_memory. Therefore for any board that uses memory_region_init_ram directly, -mem-path is not supported. Fix this by replacing memory_region_init_ram with memory_region_allocate_system_memory. 2014-05-28machine: Conversion of QEMUMachineInitArgs to MachineStateMarcel Apfelbaum
Total removal of QEMUMachineInitArgs struct. QEMUMachineInitArgs's fields are copied into MachineState. Removed duplicated fields from MachineState. All the other changes are only mechanical refactoring, no semantic changes. 2013-08-28hw: Clean up bogus default boot orderMarkus Armbruster
We set default boot order "cad" in every single machine definition except "pseries" and "moxiesim", even though very few boards actually care for boot order, and "cad" makes sense for even fewer. Machines that care: * pc and its variants Accept up to three letters 'a', 'b' (undocumented alias for 'a'), 'c', 'd' and 'n'. Reject all others (fatal with -boot). * nseries (n800, n810) Check whether order starts with 'n'. Silently ignored otherwise. * prep, g3beige, mac99 Extract the first character the machine understands (subset of 'a'..'f'). Silently ignored otherwise. * spapr Accept an arbitrary string (vl.c restricts it to contain only 'a'..'p', no duplicates). * sun4[mdc] Use the first character. Silently ignored otherwise. Strip characters these machines ignore from their default boot order. For all other machines, remove the unused default boot order alltogether. Note that my rename of QEMUMachine member boot_order to default_boot_order and QEMUMachineInitArgs member boot_device to boot_order has a welcome side effect: it makes every use of boot orders visible in this patch, for easy review. 2013-07-11PPC: g3beige: Move secondary IDE bus to mac-ioAlexander Graf
On a real G3 Beige the secondary IDE bus lives on the mac-io chip, not on some random PCI device. Move it there to become more compatible. While at it, also clean up the IDE channel connection logic. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>
2013-07-11PPC: Mac: Fix guest exported tbfreq valuesAlexander Graf
We can tell the guest the frequency of its time base through fwcfg. However, we tell it a different value from the speed tb actually runs at. Let's fix it and make the tbfreq initialization and the fwcfg exposure use the same values. Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de>

2013-07-07pci: Add root bus parameter to pci_nic_init()David Gibson
At present, pci_nic_init() and pci_nic_init_nofail() assume that they will only create a NIC under the primary PCI root. As we add support for multiple PCI roots, that may no longer be the case. This patch adds a root bus parameter to pci_nic_init() (and updates callers accordingly) to allow the machine init code using it to specify the right PCI root for NICs created by old-style -net nic parameters. NICs created new-style, with -device can of course be put anywhere. Signed-off-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au> Signed-off-by: Michael S. Tsirkin <mst@redhat.com>

2013-07-01PPC: Add clock-frequency export for Mac machinesAlexander Graf
Support in fwcfg has been around for exposure of the clock-frequency CPU property. OpenBIOS reads it, we just never exposed it. Since Mac OS X is very picky about its clock frequency values, let's just take a known good value and always expose that. 2013-04-08hw: move headers to include/Paolo Bonzini
Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches. 2013-01-25adb: QOM'ify ADB devicesAndreas Färber
