2013-04-08hw: move headers to include/Paolo Bonzini
Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches. 2013-04-01hw/milkymist-softusb: set buffer in softusb_read_{dmem, pmem} error pathPeter Maydell
Make sure we set the buffer to something in the softusb_read_{dmem,pmem} error paths, since the caller will use the buffer unconditionally. (Newer gcc is smart enough to spot this and complain about 'may be used uninitialized'.) 2013-04-01milkymist-softusb: Don't map RAM memory regions in the device itselfPeter Maydell
Don't map the pmem and dmem RAM memory regions in the milkymist-softusb device itself. Instead just expose them as sysbus mmio regions which the device creator can map appropriately. This allows us to drop the pmem_base and dmem_base properties. Instead of going via cpu_physical_memory_read/_write when the device wants to access the RAMs, we just keep a host pointer to the memory and use that. 2013-03-01hw: include hw header files with full pathsPaolo Bonzini
Done with this script: cd hw for i in `find . -name '*.h' | sed 's/^..//'`; do echo '\,^#.*include.*["<]'$i'[">], s,'$i',hw/&,' done | sed -i -f - `find . -type f` This is so that paths remain valid as files are moved. Instead, files in hw/dataplane are referenced with the relative path. We know they are not going to move to include/, and they are the only include files that are in subdirectories _and_ move. 2013-01-10Make all static TypeInfos constAndreas Färber
Since 39bffca2030950ef6efe57c2fac8327a45ae1015 (qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object Model), TypeInfo as used in the common, non-iterative pattern is no longer amended with information and should therefore be const. Fix the documented QOM examples: sed -i 's/static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' include/qom/object.h Since frequently the wrong examples are being copied by contributors of new devices, fix all types in the tree: sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*.c sed -i 's/^static TypeInfo/static const TypeInfo/g' */*/*.c This also avoids to piggy-back these changes onto real functional changes or other refactorings. 2012-10-23Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddrAvi Kivity
target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly, standards conformant hwaddr. Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]" | xargs s/target_phys_addr_t/hwaddr/g' origin Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-02-15qom: Unify type registrationAndreas Färber
Replace device_init() with generalized type_init(). While at it, unify naming convention: type_init([$prefix_]register_types) Also, type_init() is a function, so add preceding blank line where necessary and don't put a semicolon after the closing brace. 2012-02-03qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori
This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in the tree. The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass registration functions. The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init function as appropriate. Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions, and type_register_static calls. We are almost fully converted to QOM after this commit. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-27sysbus: apic: ioapic: convert to QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori
This converts three devices because apic and ioapic are subclasses of sysbus. Converting subclasses independently of their base class is prohibitively hard. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-04vmstate, memory: decouple vmstate from memory APIAvi Kivity
Currently creating a memory region automatically registers it for live migration. This differs from other state (which is enumerated in a VMStateDescription structure) and ties the live migration code into the memory core. Decouple the two by introducing a separate API, vmstate_register_ram(), for registering a RAM block for migration. Currently the same implementation is reused, but later it can be moved into a separate list, and registrations can be moved to VMStateDescription blocks. Signed-off-by: Avi Kivity <avi@redhat.com>

2011-08-04usb: use iovecs in USBPacketGerd Hoffmann
Zap data pointer from USBPacket, add a QEMUIOVector instead. Add a bunch of helper functions to manage USBPacket data. Switch over users to the new interface. Note that USBPacket->len was used for two purposes: First to pass in the buffer size and second to return the number of transfered bytes or the status code on async transfers. There is a new result variable for the latter. A new status code was added to catch uninitialized result. Nobody creates iovecs with more than one element (yet). Some users are (temporarely) limited to iovecs with a single element to keep the patch size as small as possible. Signed-off-by: Gerd Hoffmann <kraxel@redhat.com>

2011-07-05usb: Replace device_destroy bus op with a child_detach port opHans de Goede
Note this fixes 2 things in one go, first of all the device_destroy bus op should be a device_detach bus op, as pending async packets from the device should be cancelled on detach not on destroy. Secondly having this as a bus op won't work with companion controllers, since then there will be 1 bus driven by the ehci controller and thus 1 set of bus ops, but the device being detached may be downstream of a handed over port. Making the detach of a downstream device a port op allows the ehci controller to forward this to the companion controller port for handed over ports. 2011-06-14usb: cancel async packets on unplugGerd Hoffmann
This patch adds USBBusOps struct with (for now) only a single callback which is called when a device is about to be destroyed. The USB Host adapters are implementing this callback and use it to cancel any async requests which might be in flight before the device actually goes away. 2011-04-04lm32: add Milkymist SoftUSB supportMichael Walle
This patch adds support for Milkymist's SoftUSB core. This model differ from the real hardware in its functionality. The real hardware consits of a tiny freely programmable microcontroller which controls the USB ports. For simplicity reasons, this model emulates only keyboard and mouse input devices, eg. input events translates directly to the corresponding expected messages.
