Some QOM macros were using a X86_IOMMU_DEVICE prefix, and others
were using a X86_IOMMU prefix. Rename all of them to use the
same X86_IOMMU_DEVICE prefix.
This will make future conversion to OBJECT_DECLARE* easier.

The Error ** argument must be NULL, &error_abort, &error_fatal, or a
pointer to a variable containing NULL. Passing an argument of the
latter kind twice without clearing it in between is wrong: if the
first call sets an error, it no longer points to NULL for the second
call.
amdvi_realize() is wrong that way: it passes @errp to qdev_realize(),
object_property_get_int(), and msi_init() without checking it. I
can't tell offhand whether qdev_realize() can fail here. Fix by
checking it for failure. object_property_get_int() can't. Fix by
passing &error_abort instead.

In addition to the qdev_create() patterns converted so far, we have a
qdev_set_parent_bus() pattern. Mostly when we embed a device in a
parent device rather than allocating it on the heap.
This pattern also puts devices in the dangerous "no QOM parent, but
plugged into bus" state I explained in recent commit "qdev: New

Apply same solution: convert to qdev_realize(). Coccinelle script:

In the function amdvi_log_event(), we write an event log buffer
entry into guest ram, whose contents are passed to the function
via the "uint64_t *evt" argument. Unfortunately, a spurious
'&' in the call to dma_memory_write() meant that instead of
writing the event to the guest we would write the literal value
of the pointer, plus whatever was in the following 8 bytes
on the stack. This error was spotted by Coverity.
Fix the bug by removing the '&'.

Currently, when a notifier is attempted to be registered and its
flags are not supported (especially the MAP one) by the IOMMU MR,
we generally abruptly exit in the IOMMU code. The failure could be
handled more nicely in the caller and especially in the VFIO code.
So let's allow memory_region_register_iommu_notifier() to fail as
well as notify_flag_changed() callback.
All sites implementing the callback are updated. This patch does
not yet remove the exit(1) in the amd_iommu code.
in SMMUv3 we turn the warning message into an error message saying
that the assigned device would not work properly.

In my "build everything" tree, changing migration/vmstate.h triggers a
recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and
objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h).
hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience. Several other headers
include it just to get VMStateDescription. The previous commit made
that unnecessary.
Include migration/vmstate.h only where it's still needed. Touching it
now recompiles only some 1600 objects.

Currently, the amdvi_validate_dte() assumes that a valid DTE will
always have V=1. This is not true. The V=1 means that bit[127:1] are
valid. A valid DTE can have IV=1 and V=0 (i.e address translation
disabled and interrupt remapping enabled)
Remove the V=1 check from amdvi_validate_dte(), make the caller
responsible to check for V or IV bits.
This also fixes a bug in existing code that when error is
detected during the translation we'll fail the translation
instead of assuming a passthrough mode.

Add INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE to all direct subtypes of
TYPE_PCI_DEVICE, except:
1) The ones that already have INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE set:
* base-xhci
* e1000e
* nvme
* pvscsi
* vfio-pci
* virtio-pci
* vmxnet3
2) base-pci-bridge
Not all PCI bridges are Conventional PCI devices, so
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE is added only to the subtypes
that are actually Conventional PCI:
* dec-21154-p2p-bridge
* i82801b11-bridge
* pbm-bridge
* pci-bridge
The direct subtypes of base-pci-bridge not touched by this patch
are:
* xilinx-pcie-root: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-pci-bridge: Already marked as PCIe-only.
* pcie-port: all non-abstract subtypes of pcie-port are already
marked as PCIe-only devices.
3) megasas-base
Not all megasas devices are Conventional PCI devices, so the
interface names are added to the subclasses registered by
megasas_register_types(), according to information in the
megasas_devices[] array.
"megasas-gen2" already implements INTERFACE_PCIE_DEVICE, so add
INTERFACE_CONVENTIONAL_PCI_DEVICE only to "megasas".

This defines new QOM object - IOMMUMemoryRegion - with MemoryRegion
as a parent.
This moves IOMMU-related fields from MR to IOMMU MR. However to avoid
dymanic QOM casting in fast path (address_space_translate, etc),
this adds an @is_iommu boolean flag to MR and provides new helper to
do simple cast to IOMMU MR - memory_region_get_iommu. The flag
is set in the instance init callback. This defines
memory_region_is_iommu as memory_region_get_iommu()!=NULL.
This switches MemoryRegion to IOMMUMemoryRegion in most places except

This patch converts the old "is_write" bool into IOMMUAccessFlags. The
difference is that "is_write" can only express either read/write, but
sometimes what we really want is "none" here (neither read nor write).
Replay is an good example - during replay, we should not check any RW
permission bits since thats not an actual IO at all.

commit 33cd52b5d7b9adfd009e95f07e6c64dd88ae2a31 unset
cannot_instantiate_with_device_add_yet in TYPE_SYSBUS, making all
sysbus devices appear on "-device help" and lack the "no-user"
flag in "info qdm".
To fix this, we can set user_creatable=false by default on
TYPE_SYS_BUS_DEVICE, but this requires setting
user_creatable=true explicitly on the sysbus devices that
actually work with -device.
Fortunately today we have just a few has_dynamic_sysbus=1
machines: virt, pc-q35-*, ppce500, and spapr.
virt, ppce500, and spapr have extra checks to ensure just a few
device types can be instantiated:
* virt supports only TYPE_VFIO_CALXEDA_XGMAC, TYPE_VFIO_AMD_XGBE.
* ppce500 supports only TYPE_ETSEC_COMMON.
* spapr supports only TYPE_SPAPR_PCI_HOST_BRIDGE.
This patch sets user_creatable=true explicitly on those 4 device
classes.
Now, the more complex cases:
pc-q35-*: q35 has no sysbus device whitelist yet (which is a
separate bug). We are in the process of fixing it and building a
sysbus whitelist on q35, but in the meantime we can fix the
"-device help" and "info qdm" bugs mentioned above. Also, despite
not being strictly necessary for fixing the q35 bug, reducing the
list of user_creatable=true devices will help us be more
confident when building the q35 whitelist.
xen: We also have a hack at xen_set_dynamic_sysbus(), that sets
has_dynamic_sysbus=true at runtime when using the Xen
accelerator. This hack is only used to allow xen-backend devices
to be dynamically plugged/unplugged.
This means today we can use -device with the following 22 device
types, that are the ones compiled into the qemu-system-x86_64 and
qemu-system-i386 binaries:
* allwinner-ahci
* amd-iommu
* cfi.pflash01
* esp
* fw_cfg_io
* fw_cfg_mem
* generic-sdhci
* hpet
* intel-iommu
* ioapic
* isabus-bridge
* kvmclock
* kvm-ioapic
* kvmvapic
* SUNW,fdtwo
* sysbus-ahci
* sysbus-fdc
* sysbus-ohci
* unimplemented-device
* virtio-mmio
* xen-backend
* xen-sysdev
This patch adds user_creatable=true explicitly to those devices,
temporarily, just to keep 100% compatibility with existing
behavior of q35. Subsequent patches will remove
user_creatable=true from the devices that are really not meant to
user-creatable on any machine, and remove the FIXME comment from
the ones that are really supposed to be user-creatable. This is
being done in separate patches because we still don't have an
obvious list of devices that will be whitelisted by q35, and I
would like to get each device reviewed individually.

Currently it's possible to crash QEMU using "-device *-iommu" and
"-machine none":
$ qemu-system-x86_64 -machine none -device amd-iommu
qemu/hw/i386/amd_iommu.c:1140:amdvi_realize: Object 0x55627dafbc90 is not an instance of type generic-pc-machine
Aborted (core dumped)
$ qemu-system-x86_64 -machine none -device intel-iommu
qemu/hw/i386/intel_iommu.c:2972:vtd_realize: Object 0x56292ec0bc90 is not an instance of type generic-pc-machine
Aborted (core dumped)
Fix amd-iommu and intel-iommu to ensure the current machine is really a
TYPE_PC_MACHINE instance at their realize methods.
Resulting error messages:
$ qemu-system-x86_64 -machine none -device amd-iommu
qemu-system-x86_64: -device amd-iommu: Machine-type 'none' not supported by amd-iommu
$ qemu-system-x86_64 -machine none -device intel-iommu
qemu-system-x86_64: -device intel-iommu: Machine-type 'none' not supported by intel-iommu

hw/i386/trace-events has an amdvi_mmio_read trace that is used for
both normal reads (listing the register name, address, size, and
offset) and for an error case (abusing the register name to show
an error message, the address to show the maximum value supported,
then shoehorning address and size into the size and offset
parameters). The change from a wide address to a narrower size
parameter could truncate a (rather-large) bogus read attempt, so
it's better to create a separate dedicated trace with correct types,
rather than abusing the trace mechanism. Broken since its
introduction in commit d29a09c.
[Change trace event argument type from hwaddr to uint64_t since
user-defined types should not be used for trace events. This fixes a
build failure with LTTng UST.

IOMMU MMIO registers are divided in two groups by their offsets.
Low offsets(<0x2000) registers are grouped into 'amdvi_mmio_low'
table and higher offsets(>=0x2000) registers are grouped into
'amdvi_mmio_high' table. No of registers in each table is given
by macro 'AMDVI_MMIO_REGS_LOW' and 'AMDVI_MMIO_REGS_HIGH' resp.
Values of these two macros were swapped, resulting in an OOB
access when reading 'amdvi_mmio_high' table. Correct these two
macros. Also read from 'amdvi_mmio_low' table for lower address.

x86 vIOMMUs still lack of a complete IOMMU notifier mechanism.
Before that is achieved, let's open a door for vhost DMAR support,
which only requires cache invalidations (UNMAP operations).
Meanwhile, convert hw_error() to error_report() and exit(1), to make
the error messages cleaner and obvious (no CPU registers will be dumped).

The new interface can be used to replace the old notify_started() and
notify_stopped(). Meanwhile it provides explicit flags so that IOMMUs
can know what kind of notifications it is requested for.

Add AMD IOMMU emulaton to Qemu in addition to Intel IOMMU.
The IOMMU does basic translation, error checking and has a
minimal IOTLB implementation. This IOMMU bypassed the need
for target aborts by responding with IOMMU_NONE access rights
and exempts the region 0xfee00000-0xfeefffff from translation
as it is the q35 interrupt region.
We advertise features that are not yet implemented to please
the Linux IOMMU driver.
IOTLB aims at implementing commands on real IOMMUs which is
essential for debugging and may not offer any performance
benefits
