2021-07-08hw/i2c: Rename i2c_set_slave_address() -> i2c_slave_set_address()Philippe Mathieu-Daudé
Other functions from I2C slave API are named "i2c_slave_XXX()". Follow that pattern with set_address(). Add docstring along. No logical change. Patch created mechanically using: $ sed -i s/i2c_set_slave_address/i2c_slave_set_address/ \ $(git grep -l i2c_set_slave_address) Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Acked-by: Corey Minyard <cminyard@mvista.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <f4bug@amsat.org> Signed-off-by: Corey Minyard <cminyard@mvista.com>
2020-05-15hw: Remove unnecessary DEVICE() castPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
The DEVICE() macro is defined as: #define DEVICE(obj) OBJECT_CHECK(DeviceState, (obj), TYPE_DEVICE) which expands to: ((DeviceState *)object_dynamic_cast_assert((Object *)(obj), (name), __FILE__, __LINE__, __func__)) This assertion can only fail when @obj points to something other than its stated type, i.e. when we're in undefined behavior country. Remove the unnecessary DEVICE() casts when we already know the pointer is of DeviceState type. Patch created mechanically using spatch with this script: @@ typedef DeviceState; DeviceState *s; @@ - DEVICE(s) + s Acked-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au> Acked-by: Paul Durrant <paul@xen.org> Reviewed-by: Markus Armbruster <armbru@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Cédric Le Goater <clg@kaod.org> Acked-by: John Snow <jsnow@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Reviewed-by: Markus Armbruster <armbru@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <f4bug@amsat.org> Message-Id: <20200512070020.22782-4-f4bug@amsat.org>
2019-08-16Include migration/vmstate.h lessMarkus Armbruster
In my "build everything" tree, changing migration/vmstate.h triggers a recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience. Several other headers include it just to get VMStateDescription. The previous commit made that unnecessary. Include migration/vmstate.h only where it's still needed. Touching it now recompiles only some 1600 objects. 2019-08-16Include hw/irq.h a lot lessMarkus Armbruster
In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/irq.h triggers a recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). hw/hw.h supposedly includes it for convenience. Several other headers include it just to get qemu_irq and.or qemu_irq_handler. Move the qemu_irq and qemu_irq_handler typedefs from hw/irq.h to qemu/typedefs.h, and then include hw/irq.h only where it's still needed. Touching it now recompiles only some 500 objects. 2019-02-27i2c: Don't check return value from i2c_recv()Corey Minyard
i2c_recv() cannot fail, so there is no need to check the return value. It also returns unt8_t, so comparing with < 0 is not meaningful. Fix up various I2C controllers to remove the unneeded code. 2017-01-20arm: Uniquely name imx25 I2C buses.Alastair D'Silva
The imx25 chip provides 3 i2c buses, but they have all been named "i2c", which makes it difficult to predict which bus a device will be connected to when specified on the command line. This patch addresses the issue by naming the buses uniquely: i2c-bus.0 i2c-bus.1 i2c-bus.2 Signed-off-by: Alastair D'Silva <alastair@d-silva.org> Message-id: 20170105043430.3176-2-alastair@au1.ibm.com Reviewed-by: Peter Maydell <peter.maydell@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Peter Maydell <peter.maydell@linaro.org>
