2022-01-28hw/char/exynos4210_uart: Fix crash on trying to load VM statePeter Maydell
The exynos4210_uart_post_load() function assumes that it is passed the Exynos4210UartState, but it has been attached to the VMStateDescription for the Exynos4210UartFIFO type. The result is a SIGSEGV when attempting to load VM state for any machine type including this device. Fix the bug by attaching the post-load function to the VMSD for the Exynos4210UartState. This is the logical place for it, because the actions it does relate to the entire UART state, not just the FIFO. Thanks to the bug reporter @TrungNguyen1909 for the clear bug description and the suggested fix. 2021-02-02hw/char/exynos4210_uart: Fix missing call to report ready for inputIris Johnson
When the frontend device has no space for a read the fd is removed from polling to allow time for the guest to read and clear the buffer. Without the call to qemu_chr_fe_accept_input(), the poll will not be broken out of when the guest has cleared the buffer causing significant IO delays that get worse with smaller buffers. 2021-02-02hw/char/exynos4210_uart: Fix buffer size reporting with FIFO disabledIris Johnson
Currently the Exynos 4210 UART code always reports available FIFO space when the backend checks for buffer space. When the FIFO is disabled this is behavior causes the backend chardev code to replace the data before the guest can read it. This patch changes adds the logic to report the capacity properly when the FIFO is not being used. 2020-01-23hw/char/exynos4210_uart: Add receive DMA supportGuenter Roeck
To support receive DMA, we need to inform the DMA controller if receive data is available. Otherwise the DMA controller keeps requesting data, causing receive errors. Implement this using an interrupt line. The instantiating code then needs to connect the interrupt with the matching DMA controller GPIO pin. 2019-08-16Clean up inclusion of sysemu/sysemu.hMarkus Armbruster
In my "build everything" tree, changing sysemu/sysemu.h triggers a recompile of some 5400 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). Almost a third of its inclusions are actually superfluous. Delete them. Downgrade two more to qapi/qapi-types-run-state.h, and move one from char/serial.h to char/serial.c. hw/semihosting/config.c, monitor/monitor.c, qdev-monitor.c, and stubs/semihost.c define variables declared in sysemu/sysemu.h without including it. The compiler is cool with that, but include it anyway. This doesn't reduce actual use much, as it's still included into widely included headers. The next commit will tackle that. In my "build everything" tree, changing hw/qdev-properties.h triggers a recompile of some 2700 out of 6600 objects (not counting tests and objects that don't depend on qemu/osdep.h). Many places including hw/qdev-properties.h (directly or via hw/qdev.h) actually need only hw/qdev-core.h. Include hw/qdev-core.h there instead. hw/qdev.h is actually pointless: all it does is include hw/qdev-core.h and hw/qdev-properties.h, which in turn includes hw/qdev-core.h. Replace the remaining uses of hw/qdev.h by hw/qdev-properties.h. While there, delete a few superfluous inclusions of hw/qdev-core.h. Touching hw/qdev-properties.h now recompiles some 1200 objects. 2017-02-13migration: consolidate VMStateField.startHalil Pasic
The member VMStateField.start is used for two things, partial data migration for VBUFFER data (basically provide migration for a sub-buffer) and for locating next in QTAILQ. The implementation of the VBUFFER feature is broken when VMSTATE_ALLOC is used. This however goes unnoticed because actually partial migration for VBUFFER is not used at all. Let's consolidate the usage of VMStateField.start by removing support for partial migration for VBUFFER. 2017-01-27hw/char/exynos4210_uart: Drop unused local variable frame_sizePeter Maydell
The frame_size local variable in exynos4210_uart_update_parameters() is calculated but never used (and has been this way since the device was introduced in commit e5a4914efc7). The qemu_chr_fe_ioctl() doesn't need this information (if it really wanted it it could calculate it from the parity/data_bits/stop_bits), so just drop the variable entirely. 2016-09-13hw: replace most use of qemu_chr_fe_write with qemu_chr_fe_write_allDaniel P. Berrange
The qemu_chr_fe_write method will return -1 on EAGAIN if the chardev backend write would block. Almost no callers of the qemu_chr_fe_write() method check the return value, instead blindly assuming data was successfully sent. In most cases this will lead to silent data loss on interactive consoles, but in some cases (eg RNG EGD) it'll just cause corruption of the protocol being spoken. We unfortunately can't fix the virtio-console code, due to a bug in the Linux guest drivers, which would cause the entire Linux kernel to hang if we delay processing of the incoming data in any way.
