2013-04-08hw: move target-independent files to subdirectoriesPaolo Bonzini
This patch tackles all files that are compiled once, moving them to subdirectories of hw/. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2013-04-08hw: move headers to include/Paolo Bonzini
Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches. 2013-04-04like acpi_table_install(), acpi_table_add() should propagate ErrorsLaszlo Ersek

2013-04-04acpi_table_add(): extract and reimplement internalsLaszlo Ersek
The new function acpi_table_install() installs any blob the caller passes in. In the next patches this function will be promoted from helper role to extern. Reimplementing the logic should make it easier to understand. It also removes a buffer overflow when has_header && cumulative_file_size < ACPI_TABLE_HDR_SIZE - ACPI_TABLE_PFX_SIZE (In that case the g_realloc() call in the read() loop used to shrink the "acpi_tables" array, causing an out-of-bounds read access when copying the header out of "acpi_tables".) The new code isn't more daring alignment-wise than its predecessor: "acpi_table_header" is packed, and the uint32_t fields are at offsets 6, 26, and 34. 2013-04-04acpi_table_add(): accept QemuOpts and parse it with OptsVisitorLaszlo Ersek

2013-04-04acpi_table_add(): report fatal errors through an internal Error objectLaszlo Ersek
The upcoming changes will need a cleanup section at the end of the function, plus OptsVisitor reports errors via Error. For now keep channeling any Errors to stderr. 2013-04-04change element type from "char" to "unsigned char" in ACPI table dataLaszlo Ersek
The data is binary, not textual. Also, acpi_table_add() abuses the "char *f" pointer -- which normally points to file names to load -- to poke into the table. Introduce "char unsigned *table_start" for that purpose. 2013-04-03acpi: initialize s4_val used in s4 shutdownBruce Rogers
While investigating why a 32 bit Windows 2003 guest wasn't able to successfully perform a shutdown /h, it was discovered that commit afafe4bbe0cf7d3318e1ac7b40925561f86a6bd4 inadvertently dropped the initialization of the s4_val used to handle s4 shutdown. 2013-03-01hw: include hw header files with full pathsPaolo Bonzini
Done with this script: cd hw for i in `find . -name '*.h' | sed 's/^..//'`; do echo '\,^#.*include.*["<]'$i'[">], s,'$i',hw/&,' done | sed -i -f - `find . -type f` This is so that paths remain valid as files are moved. Instead, files in hw/dataplane are referenced with the relative path. We know they are not going to move to include/, and they are the only include files that are in subdirectories _and_ move. 2012-08-13qmp: add SUSPEND_DISK eventLuiz Capitulino
Emitted when the guest makes a request to enter S4 state. There are three possible ways of having this event, as described here: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/qemu-devel/2012-07/msg02307.html I've decided to add a new event and make it indepedent of SHUTDOWN. This means that the SHUTDOWN event will eventually follow the SUSPEND_DISK event. I've choosen this way because of two reasons: 1. Having an indepedent event makes it possible to query for its existence by using query-events 2. In the future, we may allow the user to change what QEMU should do as a result of the guest entering S4. So it's a good idea to keep both events separated Signed-off-by: Luiz Capitulino <lcapitulino@redhat.com>
2012-06-19Add PIIX4 properties to control PM system states.Gleb Natapov
This patch adds two things. First it allows QEMU to distinguish between regular powerdown and S4 powerdown. Later separate QMP notification will be added for S4 powerdown. Second it allows S3/S4 states to be disabled from QEMU command line. Some guests known to be broken with regards to power management, but allow to use it anyway. Using new properties management will be able to disable S3/S4 for such guests. Supported system state are passed to a firmware using new fw_cfg file. The file contains 6 byte array. Each byte represents one system state. If byte at offset X has its MSB set it means that system state X is supported and to enter it guest should use the value from lowest 3 bits. 2012-02-24suspend: switch acpi s3 to new infrastructure.Gerd Hoffmann
This patch switches pc s3 suspend over to the new infrastructure. The cmos_s3 qemu_irq is killed, the new notifier is used instead. The xen hack goes away with that too, the hypercall can simply be done in a notifier function now. This patch also makes the guest actually stay suspended instead of leaving suspend instantly, so it is useful for more than just testing whenever the suspend/resume cycle actually works. 2011-07-30revamp acpitable parsing and allow to specify complete (headerful) tableMichael Tokarev
This patch almost rewrites acpi_table_add() function (but still leaves it using old get_param_value() interface). The result is that it's now possible to specify whole table (together with a header) in an external file, instead of just data portion, with a new file= parameter, but at the same time it's still possible to specify header fields as before. Now with the checkpatch.pl formatting fixes, thanks to Stefan Hajnoczi for suggestions, with changes from Isaku Yamahata, and with my further refinements.
