2021-09-13docs: standardize directory index to --- with overlinePaolo Bonzini
Use a standard heading format for the index.rst file in a directory. Using overlines makes it clear that individual documents can use e.g. === for chapter titles and --- for section titles, as suggested in the Linux kernel guidelines[1]. They could do it anyway, because documents included in a toctree are parsed separately and therefore are not tied to the same conventions for headings. However, keeping some consistency is useful since sometimes files are included from multiple places. 2021-08-26docs/specs/acpi_mem_hotplug: Convert to rSTPeter Maydell
Convert the acpi memory hotplug spec to rST. Note that this includes converting a lot of weird whitespace characters to plain old spaces (the rST parser does not like whatever the old ones were). 2021-07-18docs: Remove "Contents:" lines from top-level subsectionsPeter Maydell
Since the top-level subsections aren't self-contained manuals any more, the "Contents:" lines at the top of each of their index pages look a bit odd; remove them. 2021-07-18docs: Stop calling the top level subsections of our manual 'manuals'Peter Maydell
We merged our previous multiple-manual setup into a single Sphinx manual, but we left some text in the various index.rst lines that still calls the top level subsections separate 'manuals'. Update them to talk about "this section of the manual" instead, and remove now-obsolete comments about how the index.rst files are the "top level page for the 'foo' manual". 2020-08-12docs: adding NUMA documentation for pseriesDaniel Henrique Barboza
This patch adds a new documentation file, ppc-spapr-numa.rst, informing what developers and user can expect of the NUMA distance support for the pseries machine, up to QEMU 5.1. In the (hopefully soon) future, when we rework the NUMA mechanics of the pseries machine to at least attempt to contemplate user choice, this doc will be extended to inform about the new support. 2019-06-17docs/specs/index.rst: Fix minor syntax issuesPeter Maydell
The docs/specs/index.rst has a couple of minor issues which we didn't notice because we weren't building the manual: * the ToC entry for the new PPC XIVE docs points to a nonexistent file * the initial comment needs to be marked by '..', not '.', or it will appear in the output * the title doesn't match the capitialization used by the existing interop or devel manuals, and uses 'full-system emulation' rather than the 'system emulation' that the interop manual title uses Fix these minor issues before we start trying to build the manual.
