2011-04-07NBD device: Separate out parsing configuration and opening sockets.Nick Thomas
We also change the way the file parameter is parsed so IPv6 IP addresses can be used, e.g.: "drive=nbd:[::1]:5000" Signed-off-by: Nick Thomas <nick@bytemark.co.uk> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2010-09-21nbd: correctly manage default portLaurent Vivier
block/nbd.c: use default port number when none is specified qemu-nbd.c: use IANA-assigned port number: 10809 Signed-off-by: Laurent Vivier <laurent@vivier.eu> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2010-08-30nbd: Introduce NBD named exports.Laurent Vivier
This patch allows to connect Qemu using NBD protocol to an nbd-server using named exports. For instance, if on the host "isoserver", in /etc/nbd-server/config, you have: [generic] [debian-500-ppc-netinst] exportname = /ISO/debian-500-powerpc-netinst.iso [Fedora-10-ppc-netinst] exportname = /ISO/Fedora-10-ppc-netinst.iso You can connect to it, using: qemu -cdrom nbd:isoserver:exportname=debian-500-ppc-netinst qemu -cdrom nbd:isoserver:exportname=Fedora-10-ppc-netinst NOTE: you need at least nbd-server 2.9.18 Signed-off-by: Laurent Vivier <laurent@vivier.eu> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2010-05-03block: Open the underlying image file in generic codeKevin Wolf
Format drivers shouldn't need to bother with things like file names, but rather just get an open BlockDriverState for the underlying protocol. This patch introduces this behaviour for bdrv_open implementation. For protocols which need to access the filename to open their file/device/connection/... a new callback bdrv_file_open is introduced which doesn't get an underlying file opened. For now, also some of the more obscure formats use bdrv_file_open because they open() the file themselves instead of using the block.c functions. They need to be fixed in later patches. 2010-01-26block: kill BDRV_O_CREATChristoph Hellwig
The BDRV_O_CREAT option is unused inside qemu and partially duplicates the bdrv_create method. Remove it, and the -C option to qemu-io which isn't used in qemu-iotests anyway. Signed-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
