2014-01-22blkverify: Don't require protocol filenameMax Reitz
If the filename is not prefixed by "blkverify:" in blkverify_parse_filename(), the blkverify driver was not selected through that protocol prefix, but by an explicit command line (or QMP) option (like driver=blkverify). If blkverify_parse_filename() has been called, a filename has been given. If it is not prefixed, it is probably really just a plain filename. This is no problem, since we can use it as the test image filename and rely on the user to specify the raw image filename through the new corresponding option. 2014-01-22blkverify: Allow command-line configurationMax Reitz
Introduce the "test" and "raw" options for specifying images. Signed-off-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2014-01-22block: Allow reference for bdrv_file_open()Max Reitz
Allow specifying a reference to an existing block device (by name) for bdrv_file_open() instead of a filename and/or options. Signed-off-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com> Reviewed-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2014-01-06qemu-option: Remove qemu_opts_create_nofailPeter Crosthwaite
This is a boiler-plate _nofail variant of qemu_opts_create. Remove and use error_abort in call sites. null/0 arguments needs to be added for the id and fail_if_exists fields in affected callsites due to argument inconsistency between the normal and no_fail variants. 2013-10-11block: Add BlockDriver.bdrv_check_ext_snapshot.Benoît Canet
This field is used by blkverify to disable external snapshots creation. It will also be used by block filters like quorum to disable external snapshot creation. Signed-off-by: Benoit Canet <benoit@irqsave.net> Reviewed-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2013-09-12block: Error parameter for open functionsMax Reitz
Add an Error ** parameter to bdrv_open, bdrv_file_open and associated functions to allow more specific error messages. Signed-off-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com>
2013-09-12bdrv: Use "Error" for opening imagesMax Reitz
Add an Error ** parameter to BlockDriver.bdrv_open and BlockDriver.bdrv_file_open to allow more specific error messages. Signed-off-by: Max Reitz <mreitz@redhat.com>
2013-09-06block: make bdrv_delete() staticFam Zheng
Manage BlockDriverState lifecycle with refcnt, so bdrv_delete() is no longer public and should be called by bdrv_unref() if refcnt is decreased to 0. This is an identical change because effectively, there's no multiple reference of BDS now: no caller of bdrv_ref() yet, only bdrv_new() sets bs->refcnt to 1, so all bdrv_unref() now actually delete the BDS. 2012-11-14aio: rename AIOPool to AIOCBInfoStefan Hajnoczi
Now that AIOPool no longer keeps a freelist, it isn't really a "pool" anymore. Rename it to AIOCBInfo and make it const since it no longer needs to be modified. Signed-off-by: Stefan Hajnoczi <stefanha@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2012-01-26block: replace unchecked strdup/malloc/calloc with glibStefan Hajnoczi
Most of the codebase as been converted to use glib memory allocation functions. There are still a few instances of malloc/calloc in the block layer and qemu-io. Replace them, especially since they do not check the strdup/malloc/calloc return value. 2011-12-15block: bdrv_aio_* do not return NULLPaolo Bonzini
Initially done with the following semantic patch: @ rule1 @ expression E; statement S; @@ E = ( bdrv_aio_readv | bdrv_aio_writev | bdrv_aio_flush | bdrv_aio_discard | bdrv_aio_ioctl ) (...); ( - if (E == NULL) { ... } | - if (E) { <... S ...> } ) which however missed the occurrence in block/blkverify.c (as it should have done), and left behind some unused variables. 2011-10-21block: drop redundant bdrv_flush implementationStefan Hajnoczi

2010-09-21blkverify: Add block driver for verifying I/OStefan Hajnoczi
The blkverify block driver makes investigating image format data corruption much easier. A raw image initialized with the same contents as the test image (e.g. qcow2 file) must be provided. The raw image mirrors read/write operations and is used to verify that data read from the test image is correct. See docs/blkverify.txt for more information.
