2014-08-06backends: Introduce chr-testdevPaolo Bonzini
From: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> chr-testdev enables a virtio serial channel to be used for guest initiated qemu exits. hw/misc/debugexit already enables guest initiated qemu exits, but only for PC targets. chr-testdev supports any virtio-capable target. kvm-unit-tests/arm is already making use of this backend. Currently there is a single command implemented, "q". It takes a (prefix) argument for the exit code, thus an exit is implemented by writing, e.g. "1q", to the virtio-serial port. It can be used as: $QEMU ... \ -device virtio-serial-device \ -device virtserialport, chardev=ctd -chardev testdev,id=ctd or, use: $QEMU ... \ -device virtio-serial-device \ -device virtconsole, chardev=ctd -chardev testdev,id=ctd to bind it to virtio-serial port0. 2014-06-18add memdev backend infrastructureIgor Mammedov
Provides framework for splitting host RAM allocation/ policies into a separate backend that could be used by devices. Initially only legacy RAM backend is provided, which uses memory_region_init_ram() allocator and compatible with every CLI option that affects memory_region_init_ram(). 2014-05-08build: convert some obj-specific CFLAGS to use new foo.o-cflags syntaxMichael Tokarev
Current Makefile system allows using foo.o-cflags variables to store object-specific CFLAGS. Convert some usages of old syntax (using QEMU_CFLAGS += construct) to the new syntax. Do not touch multifile modules for now, as build system isn't ready for this. Signed-off-by: Michael Tokarev <mjt@tls.msk.ru> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2013-04-02QOM-ify the TPM supportStefan Berger
QOM-ified the TPM support with much code borrowed from the rng implementation. All other TPM related code moves will be provided in a subsequent patch. 2013-03-01hw: move char backends to backends/Paolo Bonzini
Braille and msmouse support is in hw/, but it is not hardware. Move it to the backends/ directory. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2012-11-19rng-random: only build on POSIX platformsAnthony Liguori
There is no /dev/random on win32. Cc: Stefan Weil <weil@mail.berlios.de> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-11-16rng-egd: introduce EGD compliant RNG backendAnthony Liguori
This backend talks EGD to a CharDriverState. A typical way to invoke this would be: qemu -chardev socket,host=localhost,port=1024,id=chr0 \ -object rng-egd,chardev=chr0,id=egd0 \ -device virtio-rng-pci,rng=egd0 Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-11-16rng-random: add an RNG backend that uses /dev/random (v3)Anthony Liguori
The filename can be overridden but it expects a non-blocking source of entropy. A typical invocation would be: qemu -object rng-random,id=rng0 -device virtio-rng-pci,rng=rng0 This can also be used with /dev/urandom by using the command line: qemu -object rng-random,filename=/dev/urandom,id=rng0 \ -device virtio-rng-pci,rng=rng0 Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com> --- v1 -> v2 - merged header split patch into this one v2 -> v3 - bug fix in rng-random (Paolo)
2012-11-16rng: add RndBackend abstract object classAnthony Liguori
This is the backend used by devices that need to request entropy. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
