2024-01-29accel/tcg: Rename tcg_ss[] -> tcg_specific_ss[] in mesonPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
tcg_ss[] source set contains target-specific units. Rename it as 'tcg_specific_ss[]' for clarity. 2024-01-29accel/tcg: Move perf and debuginfo support to tcg/Ilya Leoshkevich
tcg/ should not depend on accel/tcg/, but perf and debuginfo support provided by the latter are being used by tcg/tcg.c. Since that's the only user, move both to tcg/. 2024-01-19system/watchpoint: Move TCG specific code to accel/tcg/Philippe Mathieu-Daudé
Keep system/watchpoint.c accelerator-agnostic by moving TCG specific code to accel/tcg/watchpoint.c. Update meson. Signed-off-by: Philippe Mathieu-Daudé <philmd@linaro.org> Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org> Message-Id: <20240111162032.43378-1-philmd@linaro.org>
2023-12-31configure, meson: rename targetos to host_osPaolo Bonzini
This variable is about the host OS, not the target. It is used a lot more since the Meson conversion, but the original sin dates back to 2003. Time to fix it. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2023-12-31meson: remove OS definitions from config_targetosPaolo Bonzini
CONFIG_DARWIN, CONFIG_LINUX and CONFIG_BSD are used in some rules, but only CONFIG_LINUX has substantial use. Convert them all to if...endif. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2023-10-04accel/tcg: Make cpu-exec-common.c a target agnostic unitPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
cpu_in_serial_context() is not target specific, move it declaration to "internal-common.h" (which we include in the 4 source files modified). Remove the unused "exec/exec-all.h" header from cpu-exec-common.c. There is no more target specific code in this file: make it target agnostic. 2023-10-04accel/tcg: Make icount.o a target agnostic unitPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
Remove the unused "exec/exec-all.h" header. There is no more target specific code in it: make it target agnostic (rename using the '-common' suffix). Since it is TCG specific, move it to accel/tcg, updating MAINTAINERS. 2023-10-04accel/tcg: Make monitor.c a target-agnostic unitPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
Move target-agnostic declarations from "internal-target.h" to a new "internal-common.h" header. monitor.c now don't include target specific headers and can be compiled once in system_ss[]. 2023-09-07configure, meson: move --enable-plugins to mesonPaolo Bonzini
While the option still needs to be parsed in the configure script (it's needed by tests/tcg, and also to decide about recursing into contrib/plugins), passing it to Meson can be done with -D instead of using config-host.mak. Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>
2023-06-20meson: Replace CONFIG_SOFTMMU -> CONFIG_SYSTEM_ONLYPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
Since we *might* have user emulation with softmmu, use the clearer 'CONFIG_SYSTEM_ONLY' key to check for system emulation. 2023-02-27accel/tcg: Restrict 'qapi-commands-machine.h' to system emulationPhilippe Mathieu-Daudé
Since commit a0e61807a3 ("qapi: Remove QMP events and commands from user-mode builds") we don't generate the "qapi-commands-machine.h" header in a user-emulation-only build. Rename 'hmp.c' as 'monitor.c' and move the QMP functions from cpu-exec.c (which is always compiled) to monitor.c (which is only compiled when system-emulation is selected). 2023-01-16tcg: add perfmap and jitdumpIlya Leoshkevich
Add ability to dump /tmp/perf-<pid>.map and jit-<pid>.dump. The first one allows the perf tool to map samples to each individual translation block. The second one adds the ability to resolve symbol names, line numbers and inspect JITed code. Example of use: perf record qemu-x86_64 -perfmap ./a.out perf report or perf record -k 1 qemu-x86_64 -jitdump ./a.out DEBUGINFOD_URLS= perf inject -j -i perf.data -o perf.data.jitted perf report -i perf.data.jitted Co-developed-by: Vanderson M. do Rosario <vandersonmr2@gmail.com> Co-developed-by: Alex Bennée <alex.bennee@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Ilya Leoshkevich <iii@linux.ibm.com> Message-Id: <20230112152013.125680-4-iii@linux.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Henderson <richard.henderson@linaro.org>
2023-01-16accel/tcg: Add debuginfo supportIlya Leoshkevich
Add libdw-based functions for loading and querying debuginfo. Load debuginfo from the system and the linux-user loaders. This is useful for the upcoming perf support, which can then put human-readable guest symbols instead of raw guest PCs into perfmap and jitdump files. 2021-02-05accel: replace struct CpusAccel with AccelOpsClassClaudio Fontana
This will allow us to centralize the registration of the cpus.c module accelerator operations (in accel/accel-softmmu.c), and trigger it automatically using object hierarchy lookup from the new accel_init_interfaces() initialization step, depending just on which accelerators are available in the code. Rename all tcg-cpus.c, kvm-cpus.c, etc to tcg-accel-ops.c, kvm-accel-ops.c, etc, matching the object type names.
