2023-07-10tests/qtest: enable tests for virtio-scmiMilan Zamazal
We don't have a virtio-scmi implementation in QEMU and only support a vhost-user backend. This is very similar to virtio-gpio and we add the same set of tests, just passing some vhost-user messages over the control socket. 2023-07-10hw/virtio: Add boilerplate for vhost-user-scmi deviceMilan Zamazal

2023-07-069pfs: deprecate 'proxy' backendChristian Schoenebeck
As recent CVE-2023-2861 (fixed by f6b0de53fb) once again showed, the 9p 'proxy' fs driver is in bad shape. Using the 'proxy' backend was already discouraged for safety reasons before and we recommended to use the 'local' backend (preferably in conjunction with its 'mapped' security model) instead, but now it is time to officially deprecate the 'proxy' backend. 2023-06-27scripts: add a XML preprocessor scriptMarc-André Lureau
gdbus-codegen doesn't support conditions or pre-processing. Rather than duplicating D-Bus interfaces for win32 adaptation, let's have a preprocess step, so we can have platform-specific interfaces. The python script is based on https://github.com/peitaosu/XML-Preprocessor, with bug fixes, some testing and replacing lxml dependency with the built-in xml module. This preprocessing syntax style is not very common, but is similar to the one provided by WiX (https://wixtoolset.org/docs/v3/overview/preprocessor/) or wixl, that we adopted in QEMU for packaging the guest agent. 2023-06-01block: add blk_io_plug_call() APIStefan Hajnoczi
Introduce a new API for thread-local blk_io_plug() that does not traverse the block graph. The goal is to make blk_io_plug() multi-queue friendly. Instead of having block drivers track whether or not we're in a plugged section, provide an API that allows them to defer a function call until we're unplugged: blk_io_plug_call(fn, opaque). If blk_io_plug_call() is called multiple times with the same fn/opaque pair, then fn() is only called once at the end of the function - resulting in batching. This patch introduces the API and changes blk_io_plug()/blk_io_unplug(). blk_io_plug()/blk_io_unplug() no longer require a BlockBackend argument because the plug state is now thread-local. Later patches convert block drivers to blk_io_plug_call() and then we can finally remove .bdrv_co_io_plug() once all block drivers have been converted. 2023-04-04scripts/coverage: initial coverage comparison scriptAlex Bennée
This is a very rough and ready first pass at comparing gcovr's json output between two different runs. At the moment it will give you a file level diff between two runs but hopefully it wont be too hard to extend to give better insight. After generating the coverage results you run with something like: ./scripts/coverage/compare_gcov_json.py \ -a ./builds/gcov.config1/coverage.json \ -b ./builds/gcov.config2/coverage.json My hope is we can use this to remove some redundancy from testing as well as evaluate if new tests are actually providing additional coverage or just burning our precious CI time.
