2024-02-28test: add option to speed up tx relay/mempool syncbrunoerg
when `self.noban_tx_relay=True`, the following flag `-whitelist=noban,in,out@127.0.0.1`is added to `extra_args` to speed up tx relay/mempool sync.

Instead of passing the datadir and chain name to os.path.join, just use the existing properties, which are the same. -BEGIN VERIFY SCRIPT- sed -i --regexp-extended 's|\.datadir, self\.chain, .wallets.|.wallets_path|g' $(git grep -l '\.datadir, self\.chain,') sed -i --regexp-extended 's|\.datadir, self\.chain,|.chain_path,|g' $(git grep -l '\.datadir, self\.chain,') -END VERIFY SCRIPT-
2023-04-04Switch hardened derivation marker to h in descriptorsSjors Provoost
This makes it easier to handle descriptor strings manually. E.g. an RPC call that takes an array of descriptors can now use '["desc": ".../0h/..."]'. Both markers can still be parsed. The default for new descriptors is changed to h. In normalized form h is also used. For private keys the chosen marker is preserved in a round trip. The hdkeypath field in getaddressinfo is also impacted by this change.

2022-11-10test: Remove wallet option from non-wallet testsMacroFake
Review note: The changes are complete, because self.options.descriptors is set to None in parse_args (test_framework.py). A value of None implies -disablewallet, see the previous commit. So if a call to add_wallet_options is missing, it will lead to a test failure when the wallet is compiled in.
2022-09-15rpc: treat univalue type check error as RPC_TYPE_ERROR, not RPC_MISC_ERRORfurszy
By throwing a custom exception from `Univalue::checkType` (instead of a plain std::runtime_error) and catching it on the RPC server request handler. So we properly return RPC_TYPE_ERROR (-3) on arg type errors and not the general RPC_MISC_ERROR (-1).

2021-11-10scripted-diff: Remove redundant sync_all and sync_blocksMarcoFalke
The sync calls are redundant after a call to generate, because generate already syncs itself. -BEGIN VERIFY SCRIPT- perl -0777 -pi -e 's/(generate[^\n]*\)[^\n]*)(\n|\s)+self.sync_(all|blocks)\([^\)]*\)\n/\1\n/g' $(git grep -l generate ./test) -END VERIFY SCRIPT-
2021-10-17test: get and decode tx with a single `gettransaction` RPC callSebastian Falbesoner
Rather than subsequently calling `gettransaction` and `decoderawtransaction` to get the decoded information for a specific tx-id, we can simply use the verbose version of `gettransaction`, which returns this in a 'decoded' key. I.e. node.decoderawtransaction(node.gettransaction(txid)['hex']) can be replaced by: node.gettransaction(txid=txid, verbose=True)['decoded']

2021-03-23rpc: deprecate `addresses` and `reqSigs` from rpc outputsMichael Dietz
1) add a new sane "address" field (for outputs that have an identifiable address, which doesn't include bare multisig) 2) with -deprecatedrpc: leave "reqSigs" and "addresses" intact (with all weird/wrong behavior they have now) 3) without -deprecatedrpc: drop "reqSigs" and "addresses" entirely, always.

2020-04-23Add a --descriptors option to various testsAndrew Chow
Adds a --descriptors option globally to the test framework. This will make the test create and use descriptor wallets. However some tests may not work with this. Some tests are modified to work with --descriptors and run with that option in test_runer: * wallet_basic.py * wallet_encryption.py * wallet_keypool.py * wallet_keypool_topup.py * wallet_labels.py * wallet_avoidreuse.py

2020-02-04Merge #16681: Tests: Use self.chain instead of 'regtest' in all current testsMarcoFalke
1abcecc40c518a98b7d17880657ec0247abdf125 Tests: Use self.chain instead of 'regtest' in almost all current tests (Jorge Timón) Pull request description: Simply avoiding the hardcoded string in more places for consistency. It can also allow for more easily reusing tests for other chains other than regtest. Separated from #8994 . Continues #16509 . It is still not complete (ie to be complete, we need the -chain parameter in #16680 and make whether acceptnonstdtxs is allowed for that chain or not customizable for regtest [or for custom chains like in #8994 ] ). But while being incomplete like #16509 , it's quite simple to review and another step forward IMO. ACKs for top commit: Sjors: re-ACK 1abcecc. I think it's an improvement even if incomplete and if some PR's might accidentally bring "regtest" back. Subsequent improvements hopefully don't have to touch 16 files. elichai: Code review ACK 1abcecc40c518a98b7d17880657ec0247abdf125 ryanofsky: Code review ACK 1abcecc40c518a98b7d17880657ec0247abdf125. ryanofsky: Code review ACK 1abcecc40c518a98b7d17880657ec0247abdf125 Tree-SHA512: 5620de6dab235ca8bd8670d6366c7b9f04f0e3ca9c5e7f87765b38e16ed80c17d7d1630c0d5fd7c5526f070830d94dc74cc2096d8ede87dc7180ed20569509ee

2018-03-22Merge #12076: qa: Use node.datadir instead of tmpdir in test frameworkWladimir J. van der Laan
c8330d4 qa: Use node.datadir instead of tmpdir in test framework (MarcoFalke) Pull request description: Commit c53c9831eedaf3b311bb942945268830f9ba3abc introduced the utility function `get_datadir_path`, however not all places in the code use this util function. Using the util function everywhere makes it easier to review pull requests related to the datadir. This commit replaces datadir path creation with the `datadir` member of `TestNode`, which itself uses `get_datadir_path`.
