2022-04-21Disallow more unsafe string->path conversions allowed by path append operatorsRyan Ofsky
Add more fs::path operator/ and operator+ overloads to prevent unsafe string->path conversions on Windows that would cause strings to be decoded according to the current Windows locale & code page instead of the correct string encoding. Update application code to deal with loss of implicit string->path conversions by calling fs::u8path or fs::PathFromString explicitly, or by just changing variable types from std::string to fs::path to avoid conversions altoghther, or make them happen earlier. In all cases, there's no change in behavior either (1) because strings only contained ASCII characters and would be decoded the same regardless of what encoding was used, or (2) because of the 1:1 mapping between paths and strings using the PathToString and PathFromString functions. There is no change in behavior. This just helps prepare for the transition from boost::filesystem to std::filesystem by avoiding calls to methods which will be unsafe after the transaction to std::filesystem to due lack of a boost::filesystem::path::imbue equivalent and inability to set a predictable locale. 2020-09-08Do not create default walletAndrew Chow
No longer create a default wallet. The default wallet will still be loaded if it exists and not other wallets were specified (anywhere, including settings.json, bitcoin.conf, and command line). Tests are updated to be started with -wallet= if they need the default wallet. Added test to wallet_startup.py testing that no default wallet is created and that it is loaded if it exists and no other wallets were specified.
2020-08-27refactor: Move wallet methods out of chain.h and node.hRussell Yanofsky
Add WalletClient interface so node interface is cleaner and don't need wallet-specific methods. The new NodeContext::wallet_client pointer will also be needed to eliminate global wallet variables like ::vpwallets, because createWallet(), loadWallet(), getWallets(), etc methods called by the GUI need a way to get a reference to the list of open wallets if it is no longer a global variable. Also tweaks splash screen registration for load wallet events to be delayed until after wallet client is created.

Route calls during node initialization and shutdown that would happen between a node process and wallet processes through the serializable `Chain::Client` interface, rather than `WalletInitInterface` which is now simpler and only deals with early initialization and parameter interaction. This commit mostly does not change behavior. The only change is that the "Wallet disabled!" and "No wallet support compiled in!" messages are now logged earlier during startup.
