No need for this to be a part of the header anymore.
Includes a small reference type style change.

Specifically with CCoinsViewDB, if a raw cursor is allocated and
not freed, a cryptic leveldb assertion failure occurs on
CCoinsViewDB destruction.

We'll need this to dynamically update the cache size of the existing
CCoinsViewDB instance when we create a new one during snapshot activation.
This requires us to keep the CDBWrapper instance as a pointer instead of
a reference so that we're able to destruct it and create a new instance
when the cache size changes.
Also renames `db` to `m_db` since we're already modifying each usage.

This pulls out the routine for detection of how full the coins cache is from
FlushStateToDisk. We use this logic independently when deciding when to flush
the coins cache during UTXO snapshot activation ([see here](https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/15606/commits/231fb5f17e3bb8ce3323c559ef6f9b3aaa066543#diff-24efdb00bfbe56b140fb006b562cc70bR5275)).

This separates out some logic for detecting how full the coins cache is from
FlushStateToDisk. We'll want to reuse this logic when deciding when to flush
the coins cache during UTXO snapshot activation.

This change encapsulates UTXO set data within CChainState instances, removing
global data `pcoinsTip` and `pcoinsviewdb`. This is necessary if we want to
maintain multiple chainstates with their own rendering of the UTXO set.
We introduce a class CoinsViews which consolidates the construction of a
CCoins* hierarchy. Construction of its various pieces (db, coinscatcher,
in-memory cache) is split up so that we avoid flushing bad state to disk if
startup is interrupted.
We also introduce `CChainState::CanFlushToDisk()` which tells us when it is
safe to flush the chainstate based on this partial construction.
This commit could be broken into smaller pieces, but it would require more
ephemeral diffs to, e.g., temporarily change CCoinsViewDB's constructor
invocations.
Other changes:
- A parameter has been added to the CCoinsViewDB constructor that allows the
name of the corresponding leveldb directory to be specified.

Pull request description:
This adds a `READWRITEAS(type, obj)` macro which serializes `obj` as if it were converted to `const type&` when `const`, and to `type&` when non-`const`. No actual cast is involved, so this only works when this conversion can be done automatically.
This makes it usable in serialization code that uses a single implementation for both serialization and deserializing, which doesn't know the constness of the object involved.
This is a redo of #12712, using a slightly different interface.

This adds a READWRITEAS(type, obj) macro which serializes obj as if it

A C-style cast is equivalent to try casting in the following order:
1. `const_cast(...)`
2. `static_cast(...)`
3. `const_cast(static_cast(...))`
4. `reinterpret_cast(...)`
5. `const_cast(reinterpret_cast(...))`
By using `static_cast<T>(...)` explicitly we avoid the possibility of an unintentional and dangerous `reinterpret_cast`. Furthermore `static_cast<T>(...)` allows for easier grepping of casts.

As the maximum amount of data that can be pulled into the cache due to
a block validation is much lower now (at most one CCoin entry per input
and per output), reduce the conservative estimate used to determine
flushing time.
|
|
This patch makes several related changes:
* Changes the CCoinsView virtual methods (GetCoins, HaveCoins, ...)
to be COutPoint/Coin-based rather than txid/CCoins-based.
* Changes the chainstate db to a new incompatible format that is also
COutPoint/Coin based.
* Implements reconstruction code for hash_serialized_2.
* Adapts the coins_tests unit tests (thanks to Russell Yanofsky).
A side effect of the new CCoinsView model is that we can no longer
use the (unreliable) test for transaction outputs in the UTXO set
to determine whether we already have a particular transaction.

Always leave a reasonable buffer of 50MB for usage from newly connected block (once over 50%) and increase the high water mark buffer to 200MB.
|
|
|
|
Since we are more accurately measuring pcoinsTip peak usage at twice the current in dynamic usage, it makes sense to double the default (this will lead to the same effective usage and peak usage as previously).
We should also double the buffer used to avoid flushing if above 90% but still sufficient space remaining.

Remove the nType and nVersion as parameters to all serialization methods
and functions. There is only one place where it's read and has an impact
(in CAddress), and even there it does not impact any of the recursively
invoked serializers.
Instead, the few places that need nType or nVersion are changed to read
it directly from the stream object, through GetType() and GetVersion()
methods which are added to all stream classes.
