2023-12-03test: Fix test by checking the actual exception instanceHennadii Stepanov
The BOOST_REQUIRE_THROW passes even if the command raises an exception in the underlying subprocess implementation, which might have a type derived from std::runtime_error.
2023-06-29refactor: remove in-code warning suppressionfanquake
Should no-longer be needed post #27872. If it is, then suppress-external-warnings should be fixed.

2022-12-09univalue: Remove confusing getBool methodRyan Ofsky
Drop UniValue::getBool method because it is easy to confuse with the UniValue::get_bool method, and could potentially cause bugs. Unlike get_bool, getBool doesn't ensure that the value is a boolean and returns false for all integer, string, array, and object values instead of throwing an exceptions. The getBool method is also redundant because it is an alias for isTrue. There were only 5 getBool() calls in the codebase, so this commit replaces them with isTrue() or get_bool() calls as appropriate. These changes were originally made by MarcoFalke in https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/26213 but were dropped to limit the scope of that PR. 2022-10-24test: Make `system_tests/run_command` locale agnosticHennadii Stepanov
2022-10-04refactor: move run_command from util to commonCory Fields
Quoting ryanofsky: "util can be the library for things included in the kernel which the kernel can depend on, and common can be the library for other code that needs to be shared internally, but should not be part of the kernel or shared externally."
2022-10-04kernel: move RunCommandParseJSON to its own fileCory Fields
Because libbitcoinkernel does not include this new object, this has the side-effect of eliminating the unnecessary boost::process dependency.

2021-07-01build: Fix Boost Process compatibility with mingw-w64 compilerHennadii Stepanov
Boost 1.71 has a broken compatibility with mingw-w64 compiler due to the added __kernel_entry SAL annotations.
2021-02-21configure: add --enable-external-signerSjors Provoost
This option replaces --with-boost-process This prepares external signer support to be disabled by default. It adds a configure option to enable this feature and to check if Boost::Process is present. This also exposes ENABLE_EXTERNAL_SIGNER to the test suite via test/config.ini
