2015-03-07target-xtensa: implement do_unassigned_access callbackMax Filippov
Depending on access type raise either InstrPIFDataError or LoadStorePIFDataError exception. Signed-off-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com>
2014-10-06gdbstub: Allow target CPUs to specify watchpoint STOP_BEFORE_ACCESS flagPeter Maydell
GDB assumes that watchpoint set via the gdbstub remote protocol will behave in the same way as hardware watchpoints for the target. In particular, whether the CPU stops with the PC before or after the insn which triggers the watchpoint is target dependent. Allow guest CPU code to specify which behaviour to use. This fixes a bug where with guest CPUs which stop before the accessing insn GDB would manually step forward over what it thought was the insn and end up one insn further forward than it should be. We set this flag for the CPU architectures which set gdbarch_have_nonsteppable_watchpoint in gdb 7.7: ARM, CRIS, LM32, MIPS and Xtensa. 2014-06-05softmmu: make do_unaligned_access a method of CPUPaolo Bonzini
We will reference it from more files in the next patch. To avoid ruining the small steps we're making towards multi-target, make it a method of CPU rather than just a global. Reviewed-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>

2013-07-29cpu: Partially revert "cpu: Change qemu_init_vcpu() argument to CPUState"Andreas Färber
Commit c643bed99 moved qemu_init_vcpu() calls to common CPUState code. This causes x86 cpu-add to fail with "KVM: setting VAPIC address failed". The reason for the failure is that CPUClass::kvm_fd is not yet initialized in the following call graph: ->x86_cpu_realizefn ->x86_cpu_apic_realize ->qdev_init ->device_set_realized ->device_reset (hotplugged == 1) ->apic_reset_common ->vapic_base_update ->kvm_apic_vapic_base_update This causes attempted KVM vCPU ioctls to fail. By contrast, in the non-hotplug case the APIC is reset much later, when the vCPU is already initialized. As a quick and safe solution, move the qemu_init_vcpu() call back into the targets' realize functions. 2013-07-27cpu: Introduce CPUClass::gdb_{read,write}_register()Andreas Färber
Completes migration of target-specific code to new target-*/gdbstub.c. Acked-by: Michael Walle <michael@walle.cc> (for lm32) Acked-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com> (for xtensa) Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-07-26cpu: Introduce CPUState::gdb_num_regs and CPUClass::gdb_num_core_regsAndreas Färber
CPUState::gdb_num_regs replaces num_g_regs. CPUClass::gdb_num_core_regs replaces NUM_CORE_REGS. Allows building gdb_register_coprocessor() for xtensa, too. As a side effect this should fix coprocessor register numbering for SMP. 2013-07-26target-xtensa: Introduce XtensaCPU subclassesAndreas Färber
Register a CPU type per core registered. Save the XtensaConfig in XtensaCPUClass and copy it from there to CPUXtensaState, to avoid touching every env->config access for now. Prepares for storing per-class GDB register count. Acked-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-07-23cpu: Turn cpu_get_phys_page_debug() into a CPUClass hookAndreas Färber
Change breakpoint_invalidate() argument to CPUState alongside. Since all targets now assign a softmmu-only field, we can drop helpers cpu_class_set_{do_unassigned_access,vmsd}() and device_class_set_vmsd(). Prepares for changing cpu_memory_rw_debug() argument to CPUState. Acked-by: Max Filippov <jcmvbkbc@gmail.com> (for xtensa) Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-07-23cpu: Introduce CPUClass::set_pc() for gdb_set_cpu_pc()Andreas Färber
This moves setting the Program Counter from gdbstub into target code. Use vaddr type as upper-bound replacement for target_ulong. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-06-28cpu: Change qemu_init_vcpu() argument to CPUStateAndreas Färber
This allows to move the call into CPUState's realizefn. Therefore move the stub into libqemustub.a. Reviewed-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-06-28cpu: Turn cpu_dump_{state,statistics}() into CPUState hooksAndreas Färber
Make cpustats monitor command available unconditionally. Prepares for changing kvm_handle_internal_error() and kvm_cpu_exec() arguments to CPUState. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-03-12cpu: Replace do_interrupt() by CPUClass::do_interrupt methodAndreas Färber
This removes a global per-target function and thus takes us one step closer to compiling multiple targets into one executable. It will also allow to override the interrupt handling for certain CPU families. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-02-16cpu: Add CPUArchState pointer to CPUStateAndreas Färber
The target-specific ENV_GET_CPU() macros have allowed us to navigate from CPUArchState to CPUState. The reverse direction was not supported. Avoid introducing CPU_GET_ENV() macros by initializing an untyped pointer that is initialized in derived instance_init functions. The field may not be called "env" due to it being poisoned. Acked-by: Richard Henderson <rth@twiddle.net> Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-02-16target-xtensa: Move TCG initialization to XtensaCPU initfnAndreas Färber
Combine this with breakpoint handler registration, guarding both with tcg_enabled() to suppress also TCG init for qtest. Rename the handler to xtensa_breakpoint_handler() since it needs to become global. Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-02-16target-xtensa: Introduce QOM realizefn for XtensaCPUAndreas Färber
Introduce realizefn and set realized = true in cpu_xtensa_init(). Signed-off-by: Andreas Färber <afaerber@suse.de>
2013-02-01target-xtensa: Mark as unmigratableAndreas Färber
There was no CPU_SAVE_VERSION defined, so neither "cpu_common" VMState nor cpu_{save,load}() were registered. Their implementation was no-op. Therefore there is no backwards compatibility to keep, so mark XtensaCPU as unmigratable at device level.
