2012-02-15qom: Unify type registrationAndreas Färber
Replace device_init() with generalized type_init(). While at it, unify naming convention: type_init([$prefix_]register_types) Also, type_init() is a function, so add preceding blank line where necessary and don't put a semicolon after the closing brace. 2012-02-03qdev: register all types natively through QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori
This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in the tree. The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass registration functions. The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init function as appropriate. Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions, and type_register_static calls. We are almost fully converted to QOM after this commit. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-27sysbus: apic: ioapic: convert to QEMU Object ModelAnthony Liguori
This converts three devices because apic and ioapic are subclasses of sysbus. Converting subclasses independently of their base class is prohibitively hard. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-27qdev: don't access name through infoAnthony Liguori
We already have a QOM interface for this so let's use it. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-01-27qdev: move qdev->info to classAnthony Liguori
Right now, DeviceInfo acts as the class for qdev. In order to switch to a proper ObjectClass derivative, we need to ween all of the callers off of interacting directly with the info pointer. Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

2011-06-15hw/9118.c: Implement active-low interrupt supportPeter Maydell
The 9118 ethernet controller interrupt line is active low unless the IRQ config register is programmed to set both the IRQ_POL (polarity: active-high) and IRQ_TYPE (type: push-pull) bits: implement support for inverting the irq output in other configurations. This also requires that we support setting the bits in the first place, and that we correctly preserve them across software reset. And though implementing this register might be possible, I suppose it is not worth to supporting FrameTooLong detection, for now at least. Thank you for comments. >8--------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Atsushi Nemoto <anemo@mba.ocn.ne.jp> Date: Tue, 5 Apr 2011 23:12:07 +0900 Subject: [PATCH] lan9118: Ignore write to MAC_VLAN1 register Since linux 2.6.38, smsc911x driver writes to VLAN1 registger. Since this register only affects FrameTooLong detection, ignoring write to this register should be safe. 2011-03-21change all other clock references to use nanosecond resolution accessorsPaolo Bonzini
This was done with: sed -i 's/qemu_get_clock\>/qemu_get_clock_ns/' \ $(git grep -l 'qemu_get_clock\>' ) sed -i 's/qemu_new_timer\>/qemu_new_timer_ns/' \ $(git grep -l 'qemu_new_timer\>' ) after checking that get_clock and new_timer never occur twice on the same line. There were no missed occurrences; however, even if there had been, they would have been caught by the compiler. There was exactly one false positive in qemu_run_timers: - current_time = qemu_get_clock (clock); + current_time = qemu_get_clock_ns (clock); which is of course not in this patch. Fix a buffer overflow, reported by cppcheck: [/src/qemu/hw/lan9118.c:849]: (error) Buffer access out-of-bounds: s.eeprom All eeprom handling code assumes that the size of eeprom is 128, except lan9118_eeprom_cmd. 2010-12-11Add endianness as io mem parameterAlexander Graf
As stated before, devices can be little, big or native endian. The target endianness is not of their concern, so we need to push things down a level. This patch adds a parameter to cpu_register_io_memory that allows a device to choose its endianness. For now, all devices simply choose native endian, because that's the same behavior as before.
